Title says it all really. Basically, I am about to have another baby, meaning we will have a newborn car seat, a toddler car seat and a booster seat in back of car, the booster seat will have to go in the middle cause don't trust my toddler next to new baby but also I'm not happy about having my 3 year old in middle with just a lap belt on but can't afford a new car, is there anything I can buy to make lap belt into a 3 point belt?

Thanks

No, it can't be done. Had to sell my beloved BMW because of this reason. :x

could you not pop into a garage and ask if a new one could be fitted
#3
You could put booster seat in the front passenger seat

You could put booster seat in the front passenger seat

im assuming that would be for her partner, hence why i never suggested it, ide rather put an adult on a lap belt than my child

Yeah but I guess partner will have to go in the back as you can't do the adaption yourself as you need another anchor point for a 3-point seatbelt (my car has one in the roof) and I assume a garage would either say no or quote millions - and OP said they can't afford a new car :)

I wouldn't put any of my 2 with just a lap belt either

Sorry, it cannot be done, any modification would contravene Construction and Use Regulations.

Dependant on the car, different models have 3 point belt systems in you could find a scrapped one and buy the whole back seat section in theory? Arn't they bolted to the shell?

Clio's for example my scrapped one had a 3 point version, and my mate had a clio too same year didn't. Difference in model.

Could go down as a modification surely on your insurance?

My partner drives but there isn't room for an adult to sit comfotably in the back

Yep childs safety before any adults comfort.. your partner will just have to grin and bare it ! If a booster can fit in the middle then your partner will be fine. MY 2 year olds carseat and my 5 month old care seat can fit in the back of a fiesta and on many occasons some one has had to sit in the middle and its fine.
