Can you haggle with Empire Direct?

Hi all I am looking to buy 6 kitchen items (Dishwasher, T/Drier, Built in cooker, Microwave, Cooker Hood and Hob) and the best price I have found (with a discount) is Empire Direct. They have store fairly near me. Does anyone know if you can haggle with these guys? The total for the goods is around £1100.

Advice would be really helpful.

Thanks

in that case you should buy the items seperately. far cheaper than £1100. empire direct are very expensive. if you already have a discount, then I'd doubt they would go much lower if at all.

good prices:-
tumble drier - £90
microwave - £40
hood - £40
hob - £120
dishwasher - £180
built-in overn - £150

total around £600-£650

£90 for a tumble drier? Id like to know where for a decent one! For that price all ive seen is the smaller sized vented ones with only a single directional spin, when most people want/need a larger condensor drier with reverse tumble cation that cuts down on creasing, you are talking £200ish and upwards for a drier that is any good!

As for haggling, it is worth a shot if the prices are already good for the specific items you want, most places are open to hagglin down on larger purchases.

Had a bad experience with these people, waited 2 weeks for deliver of a fridge/freezer, only to find it didnt work, they said they would send an engineer after 3-4 days, i had to argue with them to come and take it away as i didnt expect a brand new fridge/freezer to have problems from day one, when they collected it they damaged the flooring in the kitchen, got compensation but they take into consideration how old the flooring is etc. so it was very minimum. Wouldn't use them again:x

vented driers are generally proven to be better than condensing ones. I have a white knight one and it does a great job (similar one for £88 at dixons).

All depends what models the OP is looking for of course but they havent stated that so hard to draw comparisons but £1100 is way OTT unless they are all top model Bosch models etc.

Well I got on the phone and haggled as much as I could. I got everything I wanted (apart from the Dishwasher) for £754.13, so I am quite pleased. I am now looking for a Silver coloured Dishwasher (pref Zanussi) for as cheap as poss. Any ideas anyone?

Rep on it's way to all useful comments.

Thanks Guys

I do appreciate your help, but I think you may have misunderstood my inital question. I was actually asking if you could haggle with Empire Direct. I have already done my homework on the products, and the cheapest places to buy them, but I just needed to know if you can do a deal with this company, or whether there was no point in trying to haggle. I am fitting a decent kitchen, and want decent electrical items. If I was fitting a 'Tesco Value' kitchen, then I could get all the stuff about half the price.

Fair comment but empire direct are a catalogue company so will never even come close in most cases to matching the price of the products individually elsewhere. maybe if you posted the make/model, you might save more £££££££

p.s.

dont forget quidco :)

I went for the Zanussi ZUQ875X oven, the ZGL62IX hob, the EFC60001X hood, the LG MH5847CS Microwave, the Hotpoint TVF760A tumble drier and I want to buy the Zanussi ZDF511S dishwasher.

The only time I have haggled in Empiure Direct (Leeds Branch), is with the asian staff members, who seem very open to deal, while the white staff, have usually offered to do me a Monster cable "at cost" instead of offering a deal actually worth having.
