Hello. I didnt have a clue where to post this.. But here goes,,,

I was supposed to go to a concert on saturday but couldnt go as my friend who was supposed to come with me pulled out last minute.. Now she is demanding her money back as she couldnt go.. Why should I be out of pocket.. (which i am either way as i didnt go either?? Then she decided that a holiday i didnt go on with her over 2 years wasnt paid in full and I owe her another £50.. (surely you cant just add money) So all together she wants £70... Wouldnt be so much of a problem i would just ignore her BUT she has my wii + wii fit and all my games Nearly £400 of stuff and wont give them back.. What can I do.. ??? I cant pay her the money i cant afford it.. She rekons if i dont pay it today she selling the wii + stuff 2moro.. HELP!!!!

NIce friend !!

Sounds like you both need to chat.
To bring something up that long ago doesn't make much sense. Have you done something to really annoy her recently?? Is money a big issue of her at the moment?

Would be very unreasonable for her to sell your property.
She also cancelled as she couldn't go so her loss, not your fault she didn't go, Was her decision not to go.

Just tell her you are going to the police to report the theft.

and then get a new proper friend!

Best advice, Ditch the freind, Money's tight for everyone at christmas but there's no excuse for being like that.

P.s. threaten to report to the police for theft
#5
Seems a bit harsh this but can I suggest the small claims court, which covers up to £500.
If you have the receipt for the wii and can prove ownership then, you should have no problem. I would then suggest you find a new friend
#6
Whatever the outcome I guess you'll be picking your friends more wisely in future!
It is of course unreasonable to expect you to pay her money back for an event SHE backed out of. Unless you were able to sell her ticket - which isn't the case. Its also completely absurd to decide you owe her money from something 2 years ago that she hadn't mentioned before. So if you can't pay her the BLACKMAIL money sounds like she's ruthless (and a complete bitch) you will lose the stuff you lent her.
#7
Ask her to keep something as collateral that she could easily get £100 for, get the rest of the stuff back, and wait until you can get the money if you are intending to pay her.

I would burgle her house, but i'm like that.

There's been no theft, don't waste the OP's time as i'm sure she knows she isn't going to the feds.

Im not planning on paying the money...
She rekons that with a day notice i could of found a replacement.. I couldnt..

i would just pay her and get all your goods back then never speak to her ever again - you do not need 'friends' like that! make sure when you do pay her she has your goods with her or else do not pay her unless she swaps - let me know how you get on babe - not nice to happen this time of year but i really would pay her then tell her where to go!

Then what advice do you require? Tell her that she should've found a replacement. Is she tapped?

She has committed no crime.
#12
Write her a cheque, in exchange for the stuff. Then stop the cheque, or post date it like ten years or something.

And choose better friends!
#13
How old is this girl? if things have gone to far and your past talking, I would go to her house ( take another friend or family member with you) and collect your stuff. Dont let her blackmail you any longer.
Good luck
#14
She wont open the door... I just wanted to know if there was anything i could do with out paying the money.. Shes 18...

I like the cheque idea dont know if she would accept it tho.
#15
I think you need a new mate!!

If she had to cancel, like anyone, they would not expect the cash for the ticket back!

Sounds too me shes taking the pee out of you big time.

The reason she has brought up the holiday from 2 years ago is just an excuse, if it was a problem she would of raised it before.

Tell her your coming round for your stuff.. full stop!

Then get a new mate!!

So you've decided not to pay, and she's decided that she won't give your stuff back.

Why did you post this thread?

I dont owe her anything.....
#21
Is she living with her parents? can you speak to them. The cheque idea sounds the best to me. It sounds like she's calling all the shots here. you need to be one step ahead and a bit more like her to get what you want?

So thats the end of it then...

If you dont post the money = no wii-- simple as....

If you ex-friend is unwilling to give you your stuff, but you owe her cash.. you need to settle your debts and then get your stuff back

You dont need friends like this anyway..

ps/.. whats her reason for cancelling anyway ? How much notice did see give you when cancelling ??

SO... she would perfer to have an extra £70 than your friendship... -- Call the POLICE.. :-)

You say you don't, she says you do.

Are you a teenager too?
banned#27
Op does'nt owe her freind anything, Just seems to me like her mate is short of christmas prezzie cash so thought this would be the answer. Just shows how little some people value freindship.

Personally i would go round there with a couple of freinds and SORT ER OUT
#28
OH, this is why the UK need Judge Judy! lol

There is really only 3 things you can do!
1) Pay the money get your wii!
2) She keeps and sells the wii
3) You go round, make a scene and get the wii back!
banned#29
Why does she have you Wii in the first place?

Go round and tell her you want your stuff back. Then tell her to do one. And stuff making a scene in front of the kid - going by your OP he/she should be used to it by now

My thinking!!!:whistling:
#35
Im 18 too if one of my "mates" did this to me, id go round and kick his ass, either contact the police or bust her door down with ur dad or ur bf etc, u owe her nothin n shes tryin to blackmail u, which im pretty sure is illegal, so police is prob a better idea than smashing her door down, also say to the police that you think she may have already sold your wii lol

especailly with them both being 18 and one living on her own with a kid.... ok me being stereotypical here...but .... seems like its not high society we are dealing with here.
#37
Ok. This is an easy one, go round to her house & tell her if she doesn't give your stuff back you will kick her fecking teeth in. If she doesn't give you your stuff, kick her fecking teeth in. If she still doesn't give you your stuff kick her fecking teeth in again. And so on.

Or you could both try acting like adults!!
#38
Just give her the £20 for the ticket back in exchange for the stuff. The compromise might tempt her to give you your stuff back. Obviously you shouldn't have to give her ticket money back but if it gets your wii it might be worth it
