My daughter will be 3 in jan, so father christmas was thinking of bringing her a dolls house this year :) . There are SO many different ones to chose from, can you tell me which ones to advoid or one that you've had and thought was really good. I've been looking at ELC , Argos and toysRus ones.

Thank you for any opinions.

I don't know where you'd get it from, but try to get a proper traditional one that will last her a life time. I still have mine from when I was little, and I intend to give it to my daughter. I've seen some kits in Hobbycraft, if you or partner are that way inclined. It's a lovely thing to make for your daughter, and she'll treasure it forever. Or trash it by New Year.

Are you looking for a plastic or wooden one? My daughters had the Toysrus wooden one last year for £49.99 - its still available at that price now, and comes with lots of bits and pieces to go inside. Looks nice when its set up too.

I bought my duaghters one from Netto year before last but it was in the booklet last year too and I believe it was also in there the year before I bought it. Can't remember exactly how much but I think it was half price, down to £30. They also sold all the furniture and figures to go wit it....baths toilets, beds lamps pctures kitchens toys, cot, lighting etc even wallpaper and flooring (although I got most from B&Q for free lol)... It was pink with white woodwork and had three floors (one in the roof). Well worth the money, my daughter plays with it a lot. I would keep an eye out as I'm sure it will be back b4 xmas xx

I do really like this one, it just gets quiet expensive buy the time you get some sets to fill it :( I think it went half price last year after christamas, i could maybe wait and see if this happens again and get in for her birthday instead (thinking?)

I like the ToysRus one as it has a lot in it, have you got it? is the wood smooth? I think i would have to do a paint job on it before i gave it to her.... now am i creative enough to do this ! I think wooden ones look nicer.

Yes, we have the Toysrus one. The wood is quite smooth, would be ok to paint if you wanted to. We said we may paint it but to be honest, we never got round to it! Stiil looks really nice tho, and kept my daughters happy for hours. The roof part at the front comes off too so there are 3 floors altogether. Other sets may look a little more plush but the extra bits and pieces you get in this make up for it, and if youve got the time to paint it, you could customise it, even put her name on! Wish I had the time!!!!!!!! :D

I did look at the ones from studio as well, there are just TO many to chose from and i'm rubbish at making a decision :| Have you seen the big 3ft one thats reduced at the moment at ELC, i think they can use barbies etc in it.

I have seen the Asda one set up and it does look quite nice!

I also love the look of the huge one they have rediced at ELC at the moment and think it's a bonus that you can play with the barbies in it too.

I have the ELC rosebud one for thier xmas, but like you say, once you start buying all the furniture sets for it, it becomes expensive!

When we bought ours last year, we set it all up before Christmas too. (You dont want to find any missing peices on the big day!) Just ended up putting a chrismas blanket over it when the girls had gone to bed Christmas Eve - one less pressie to wrap, and it was ready for instant play Christmas morning!
