My partner caught this and took a photo of it as he was sure it wasn't a normal house spider. Could someone please tell me if they know what type it is? Photo's in the next post.
Thanks in advance xxxxx

Get out of there quickly its a funnel web, highly poisonous have you bought fresh fruit esp bananas lately? Its likely to have come over with them.

Kidding, it just looks like a common spider you find in a garden, big ugly but completely harmless (jeez sounds like im describing myself there!).

Lol it looks horrible doesn't it!!! My partner chucked it outside after showing pics to his dad. We think it's something horrible (Like I do with every spider lol) but his dad thought otherwise.

it is a common house spider. they can grow quite big (a good inch+ long) but cant hurt you in the slightest.

I quite like them really....

Just kill it

Please don't kill spiders, they eat dirty stinking flies and such. They will not hurt you whereas a fly can easily spread disease.

remember all british spiders have fangs and bite, but most wont penetrate our skin, only 1 british spider will give you a fairly painful bite and thats the water spider, but usually this is much less severe than the bites and stings of many common insects.

Of all our spiders, this is one that can and will bite if mis-handled. The bite is painful, not unlike a bee sting.
