Cancel or not to Cancel?

Hi All,

I have abit of a dilemma, that I would appreciate some of your opinions.

My wife currently has an O2 contract that expires in October. She has a Samsung Galaxy S but doesnt really like it and is looking at getting a different handset possibly the HTC Desire HD or Incredible S.

This is the dilemma. Do I pay off the remainder of the contract (£175) and sell the Samsung (£250ish), and get a new contract with a new handset and possibly a better contract that she is already on?

or

Do I just trade and wait for the upgrade in October?

What would you do?

Thanks

You cant really loose either way, you wont be out of pocket.

Why doesnt she like the Galaxy? if she doesnt like the galaxy to the extent she wants rid, its more than likely she doesnt get on with the android OS... which bothe the Desire HD and incredible run....

I'd just wait now. Not long left. With the end of the contract you'll probably get the handset you want (or even a better one to be released) with a better plan/deal without giving your money away to O2. Then when Galaxy is sold, you can use the £250ish to pay for the next months of contract or treat yourself (mean the wife) with that money.

She likes the look and the feel of it and the apps etc, but the reception isnt great and she keeps hanging up on people (yeah she is rude lol) when the phone is against her face, this only happens to her, Ive not had that issue!

The other option is this:

My T-Mob contract expires the end of this month, so I can get her the handset she wants now on my upgrade and then I can either use her Galaxy S, or sell that and get a handset I want, TBH im still quite happy with my Hero. Then when her upgrade is due I can get a new handset for myself!

Thats the trouble with mobiles on contract, its like getting married, within a few months you discover there are far better options available.

I may go back to PAYG next time (phones not women, although that option sounds good too)

I had a Hero but because my OH liked it I took a new contract out when I could and got a X10 mini pro, big mistake, I wish I had looked for another hero on contract.

doing that is your best option i reckon.

Yeah, I thought you might say that.

Suppose its a win win. She gets the phone she wants, then I get either her galaxy now (not that keen on the size) or sell it and get a phone I want or keep the cash then get a new phone when her contract is due for renewal!

But now the question is, is the T-Mob contract im on a good deal? I got it 18 months ago from here. 600mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet £25p/m. Do I just upgrade or is there something better?
