Cancel your Vodafone contract for free due to price increase

Just noticed an insert in my bill which mentions that out of bundle call charges are increasing as of 1/09. As this is a change to the terms of the contact we agreed for when signing up, we are within our rights to cancel for free - call 191 and give it a try!

I'm sure it says in your contract that you agree to any price increases as long as they give you prior notice.
I'll wait to see if others manage to cancel before I try to cancel my contract.

I dont think this will allow release, as above they tend to have this covered in T&C's. The only changes that work are those that have a more severe effect such as the calls that bundled minutes do cover.

Doubt it can be done, but if someone manages it, let us know (wouldn't mind jumping off)...

When a couple of other networks changed their terms and conditions, some people did manage to cancel their contracts as the change was to their detriment.

When my contract was changed and I phoned up to query it, the network just kept me on my old terms and conditions until the end of my min term of the contract, and then it was up to me at the end of the min term to accept the new terms and continue on a month to month notice / upgrade with the new terms or give my notice of disconnection or port my number.

If you leave it longer than 28 days it is deemed that you have accepted the new terms and conditions and you are bound by the new conditions.

As soon as you get notice of the change (which I think includes notice put on their web site) you may need to check with c/s to see how it affects you.

Say for instance if a network started charging for certain numbers which you have previious history of calling you could have grounds for terminating the contract. While if you have never called those numbers you may or may not have grounds to terminate the contract.

The only people with a hope of getting out of contract are those who use minutes outsied of their bundle, which isnt usually all that many to start with, and if you dont why would you want to leave anyway unless its so you can get a new contract, new phone and either more for your money or the same for less, and who'd want to do that? :whistling:

You just answered your own question :-D Could get a PAC code and start a new contract with another network and sell the handset they give you and make a profit

Before you even THINK about cancelling, think to your self. DO you have a good deal going on with Vofaphone? Is it worth loosing your loyalty asumig you get alot of discounts on your line rental

Like the 0844 or 0870 numbers most people try not to use them on their mobiles but like me you probably will have once or twice in the past,
this still affects you as you may again, been told to go into the vodafone stores to show them the terms and conditions so they can escualate this as the contact centres wont deal with it

Hi, I posted this in a lot more detail than this effort several days ago.

They wrote back to me with some laughable letter and after I'd replied to that they agreed I could leave my contract. A simple letter in reply reminding them about a small bit of law affecting their contract and hey presto - my contract ends on the 1st September.

We hope you will stay with us, but as these changes will increase your monthly bill by more than the Retail Price Index (RPI), currently 1.3%, you're entitled to end your agreement without charge.

If you want to do this please write to us within 30 days of receiving this notification message at :

Please don't forget to send the notice via signed/tracked mail. Vodafone would be one of the many companies who would say they "never" received it.

I got the same message today i signed kit and caboodle 3 months ago ,Broadband,line rental ,new phone and contract i went through my bill the other day and realised they charged me £15 for out of hours calls about 20 in total ( our lass ) moaning she could not get a good signal on her vodafone mobile £2 one call 18 minutes bloody expensive
