Just rang $ky to cancel my Dads subscription. I was expecting them to give the "please dont go" speel - and was looking forward to an offer to stay. When he took out the subscription in the first place, he missed out on any of the deals for half price etc and has been paying £45pm for the full package with the basic digibox.
Told them that he was going back to Virgin Media because they had made a good offer to re-join and with a V-box and including Setanta, so was much better value for money.
They just said "but you have to give back the v-box when you cease". I just said that was fine as like the sky+ box, both were useless without a subscription. He then just gave a cancellation date for the 22 Jan.
I'm quite amaised they are happy to lose £45 a month without even trying to persuade not to cancel! Annoyingly, my Dad is likely to stay put and contact them before that date - but maybe they will call him first!
I got put to the Indian Call centre first! What a bunch of muppets they are!!!
