I've got one month left with O2 on a 12 month £30 contract (cashback deal from phones4u) and I'm going to be calling the retentions department tomorrow.

What are other people's experience with O2 retentions and what deals have you managed to get?

Just ask for your pac code, find the best offer online from another SP, then go prepared.

Be prepared to call your bluff though........

aim high!!! retentions are the guys that can get you what you want but you have to be prepaired as others have said
#5
So what do you think is a reasonable deal to try and aim for?

I use around 300 minutes and 300 texts a month

my advice is cancel and take out another contract. you'll never get as good a deal. for a start you can get 50 quid from quidco on a new contract, plus a better phone.

O2 are not stocking the N97............

carphone warehouse were giving 600 mins for a fiver a month on o2 18 month contract and no phone (no cashback stuff, just a fiver straight). not sure what phones4u would give though.

Anyone got any last advice just before I call?

Just got off the phone from them and they cancelled it and are now sending me the PAC Code.

She didn't even bother trying to offer me any better deal then what's available for O2 new customers.

Do you think it's worth calling back later and trying to see if they're willing to offer me a better deal to have me stay on?

if it's with o2 direct , then their deals are not so good, but still should have offered something. i know if its through cpw and you have been with them a year they offer nice retention deals

I got a 18 month contract through O2 retentions last year,

£10pm 1000 anytime mins 500 Texts and unlimited O2 to O2 calls, so I got it for my wife as well as part of the deal........I shall not be upgrading this contract just buy my own phone lol

Surprised they didn't offer you any retention deals, that's pretty shoddy of them, most places are doing their best to keep your business these days!!

they'll phone back in a couple of days, happened to me 2/3 months ago, they gave me my pac code then 48hrs later a call from retentions! get ready to deal;-)!

just been offered Nokia 5800, 600 mins (only use 400max) unltd texts (only send 400pm max) and unltd mobile internet for £25pm even thought I've been with Vodafone 7 years - absolutely shockin if you ask me.

between 4:30pm and 6pm today I called them 5 times, was cut off 4 times and was given 3 "best deal prices" ranging from £22.50 for £29.00pm (the latter from Rententions belive it or not!!).

Oh, and i told "if we give you the contract for £20pm or less" it will be like us paying you to stay with VF -- the way it works, is YOU pay US!" - no word of a lie.

cancelled via website/email earlier tonight, so just waiting for the final day.

Will I need my PAC code even thou I'm out of contract mid August.
