Cancelling TalkTalk Phone Line - HELP!

I changed from TalkTalk to O2 for my phone line recently. TalkTalk knew about this because they rang me up trying to get me to stay about a week before the switch. O2 told me they handle everything and I would receive a final bill from my current supplier.

TalkTalk never sent me anything. I logged onto my account yesterday and they have applied additional charges to my account.

1. They have added the previous full months payment as an adjustment even though I had already paid this (so I am paying for line rental and call charges twice). Is this because I did not give them 1 month notice? But I am out of contract.

2. They attempted to charge my debit card when I was no longer a TalkTalk customer and have charged me a £10 direct debit rejection charge.

I have sent them a cheque for the call charges minus the 2 additional charges above, which as far as I am concerned it all I owe them because the line rental is paid a month in advance and was already paid. Anybody have similar experience?

I have emailed them but got no reply. They have a premium rate help line and I am definitely not giving them any more money. If anyone has a freephone number for them can they let me know.

The number is free from a talk talk phone and there are plenty of free ones on saynoto0870.com or use the forum, really good support on there.

Yes it was free when I was with TalkTalk but now I'm O2 it is an 0870 number at full rate. Anyway thanks I did not think of checking the TalkTalk forum. I'll do that and expire this tread.

I've had terrible experiences with talk talk.
The only advice that I would give you is to write to them to tell them why you don't owe them any more money. They will probably ignore this, but you you then stick to your guns if you feel you are justified.
Then you simply ignore all their threats and tell them you will see them in court.

This is pretty much what I had to do about 2 years ago after the thieving b*****ds took extra money out of my bank account and still wanted more. I would happily have gone to court over what they did to me. Imo they are to be avoided like the plague.....even if they offer you everything for free!

why are you surprised at having to pay when you havent officially cancelled with them? Leaving it to a third party to do this is no excuse tbh.
