now if he had a PS3 he wouldnt need a bluray player :)
#2
i have got mine a ps3 and thats to go with a 42inch so it saves on space also
#3
dvd with surround sound since he's only 12, that way he can watch dvds (which are cheaper and he wont notice the difference) and use the surround sound for his xbox.
#4
Wow, lucky child!

Yeah i agree, and i think an Xbox, 32" TV and surround sound is going to really boost his homework skills too.

You're buying him way too much (seriously). I have friends who bought their kids everything and now the little blighters have no work ethic. They just sit on their ar*es all day waiting for things to come to them on a plate instead of going out and working for them. Have a long think about what you'red doing.

Very Lucky Child in my opinion.
#12
bloody hell my mom and dad were tight :w00t:

buying your kid a 32 inch tv and a dvd player for christmas isn't exactly spoling him and doesn't really make him a lucky child (unless you're a family of "job seekers" like many people on here are). more or less every child i know has a 28+inch lcd tv in their room. it is 2009 and we live in the UK not Africa. receiving a tv and dvd player for christmas wont change the way he grows up, seriously get with the times.
#14
Budget?

You could get him a Blu-Ray or at the very least an upscaling DVD player. I purchased an LG BD370 that is Blu Ray, Upscaler for DVD's (multiregion with a simple disc hack) and plays downloaded video files off a USB stick.

i bought my son a 22" tv for xmas that he wants on the wall so i bought him one of these to go with it
thought it would be better than having to keep tv stand for xbox etc

my reply wasnt to you. for a 12yr old i would buy a couple of xbox games, a nice watch, gift voucher for the likes of game/hmv, not spend £100's on a large tv, a small cheap one like what you get yours would be enough.

a nice watch? for a 12 year old boy? haha and a gift voucher? yes he's really going to enjoy opening that on christmas day. there is no point in buying a small tv, the big ones are only a few quid more. i feel sorry for any kids you have or plan to have

i'll forgive you for the silly comments you have made but only if you grew up in the 1930's, can you confirm your year of birth?

my eldest son is 12yrs old, and he thinks all his christmas's have come at once because he is getting a ps3 with 2 games, he's not getting anything else- a)because of the cost & b) thats all he wants. i don't beleiving in spoiling him!! a normal telly is suffice!!

owning a ps3/360 and a normal tv is kinda pointless though

I do believe in spoiling my one and only son on that one day of the year. Anyway this is bringing it off topic!

silly me i thought we was talking about xmas, a time for receiving GIFTS not concentrating on how much can i spend this year.

dont feel sorry for my 4 chidren (3 teenagers @ school & 1 pre-school), they have grown up knowing the value of money and will welcome any present this xmas, whether it be big or small.

i am sure yr son will love his present.

personally i dont see much difference in playing a PS3 on a plasma or normal tv.

Yes but for someone to receive a gift someone needs to spend money on that gift!

Its Christmas and what a parent wants to spend on their children is nobody's business BUT THEIRS.

Get him a bike - or is he too fat from sitting in front of the telly?

yes his son will be RECEIVING a GIFT and that GIFT will be a large tv. "knowing the value of money" aka they get bullied for having cheap trainers, way to go

You really are an angry young man aren't you.

Is that because your parents bought your love instead of actually spending time with you?

all together now... arrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
