thing is ive just got home and checked and the silly sausage has recorded my DOB wrongly(84 instead of 85) on the fixed penality notice even tho he had my license(it says 85 on there lol!)
heard loadsa people get off these sorts of things on technicalities so just wondering if im one of them?

Cant believe you got fined for something so minimal! I would have thought you'd just get a warning. (unless you have other nasties on your licence)

should have said when you started your journey at 3 in the morning it was foggy and you have not stopped since.

What I hate the most is being blinded by some ignorant person with fog lights on (not directed at you OP), on a normal night. £30 is not enough IMO.

nope - squeaky clean.i was nice as pie to him and apologised as soon as i realised.
he told me i was getting a fine and my mum who was in the car with me said something like "cant you please just give us a warning -twas a genuine mistake" that got him mad and he said he could arrest me for dangerous driving there and then if he wanted...
so i just said right watever -give me the fine.
i WILL be reporting his behavour in the morning.theres a way to go about things and his just wasnt it.

usually the warning light on the dash or the switch illuminated indicating that the fog light is on when it shouldnt be is bit of a give away to the vehicle driver !

I've got done for this before... totally my fault so didn't mind paying. Haven't done it since!

How old are you OP? I can see this sort of attitude to a driver of my age (17) but not to someone older and more mature?

Police are there when you dont need them and arent when you do...

im 24
meh...everyone has bad days, and im a mellow sort and dont usually get bothered by stuff llike this...so ill just file a complaint about it and forget it ever happened.
be much easier to do if i dont actually have to pay the fine tho:whistling::thumbsup:

So when did you turn the fog lights on then and when were you stopped? :?

fog lights mustve been on from last nite when my mum was out driving.they only activate when normal lights are on too.
so i took her out around 6 and didnt notice them on cos i just turned the normal lights on and the fogs went on too...and when i stopped the car and turned normal lights off the fogs went off too....easy enuf mistake to make imo..but still silly:oops:
was stopped around an hour ago

What car is it?
I've only ever seen orange warning lights for rear fogs on.
I've seen green lights for front fogs on.
What were you stopped for, front lights or rear?

1 month old nissan note.
does show up as an extra green light on the dash when the fogs are on but just didnt notice as its an unfamilar car:oops:
was stopped for front fogs being on in clear conditions.

Were you driving with your foglights on, without your headlights - but the sidelights? I'm sick of these type of drivers, if they're finding it so difficult to see that they have to have their fogs on, why don't they put their proper headlights on?! - I'm talking about like 5/6pmish when it's dark, I don't really notice these things in the morning.

Also fogs shouldn't really dazle/blind people unless they're fitted wrong, on pretty much all cars they are very low down, and only really focus a few metres ahead so you can see road markings through fog, not sure how anybody can be blinded by them unless they are staring at them, ho hum.

as explained fog lights come on only when headlights are on.i had my headlights on and thus also had my fogs on by mistake.i entirely agree that it wasnt cool for me to hav my fogs on tho - which ive said ear;ier too.
the fog lights are not fitted incorrectly and im not saying that i blinded/dazzeled anyone-i know when fog light are appropiate to use too, just really was wondering if an incorrect dob on a fixed penalty notice is enuf to get me off.....apparently it isnt:x
