Thats link to my other thread about how im on sleeping tablets/muscle relaxant from doctor.

It seemed ok at first but problem is last Monday(as in 9 days ago) I moved bedrooms so by time I moved stuff in it was 4am and still was only half done, it was the previous tenants fault as she was supposed to move by 10am so she left packing to night before but her friends came round and she started drinking so she never did it.

So I never got keys till 9pm

Anyway I was then woken up at 8am by sky engineer(that was my fault lol)

so I had about 3 hours sleep that night

Next night I went to bed around 2am simply as I had to go up town and do job search for a few hours and do food shopping etc and didnt get back till 8pm then flaked out.

Then woke up at 10am next morning as had job interview.

So because of my sleep patten changing I couldnt bring myself to go to bed before 2 or 3am

Then gradually it got later and later.

Problem is if I go to bed at 3am Im still awake tll like 7am so dont get up till like 5pm

What do I do to sort this.

Well I need to go up town to take back some Blockbuster DVD's and need to buy some pepsi(cant live without at least a glass a day of soft drink)

But worse comes to worse take dvds back Thursday and get a expensive bottle from corner shop.

But that means a really packed day Thursday as have to go to uni for a few hours to see guy about getting extra funding, then go up town, then go to supermarket.

If I go to bed now I reckon I wont get out till around 5pm and would have to rush to have a shower and get 6pm bus.

Jeez! What would you be like if you REALLY had to WORK for a living?
I can see your problem straight off - YOU HAVEN'T GOT ENOUGH TO DO!!!!
Too much time on your hands, lounging around watching Sky and Blockbuster movies. Try getting out and doing things that will make you tired - in short, EXERCISE!

Otherwise do what the rest of us do, get a job, a family, kids and make sure your job includes shiftwork. Nothing tires you faster than kids and coming off a nightshift at 8am and having to back on-duty at 2pm.

I'm not having a go as such, just pointing out what's obvious. :-D

Ive got a job, i do shift work - 24hour shifts its called having a family mate, 3 kids 2-7 years, sky? dont watch it, the kids watch the telly more than me. What stops me sleeping is pain/discomfort due to FIBROMYALGIA , next time just take a second to think before judging people, not everything is as clear cut as you'd like to think in your cosy little bubble:thumbsup:

I'll let you off then:p

I understand that ryouga has been having a hard time of it lately though, under a lot of pressure with worries on his mind, so i'd be inclined to give him some slack, he's a decent enough guy, friendly on the forum too. I genuinely believe he's not a slacker, but he does have personal things he needs to sort out in his head.

Not being funny but its obviously cos you dont have enough to do all day, try my day see how u go.....up at 6:30am ,...7am walk dogs ,8am gym, about 12noon off to work for an average of 10hrs some days more some less, so get in about 10pm average, take dogs out again then finally settle for a few hours , oh and repeat the full lot for 7 yes ALL 7 days..... you wont need no ridiculous 'muscle relaxants' then

Mate, you need to be VERY strict with yourself. You need to lay down to sleep at a set time - say 11pm. Don't eat anything before bed. Just lay down and close your eyes.

If you don't fall asleep after a while you should go into another room and do something else for 20 minutes then try again. (this part I've been told - not tried myself)

Make sure you get up at the same time each day - even if it means not having a 'full nights' sleep. I use quotes here because it's tripe that you need 8 hours sleep - this varies from person to person and there's no evidence to suggest that '8' is some kind of magical sleep number. Even if you have just 3 hours, it's important that you get up at a set time the next morning (say 7am) - it may feel bad that day but avoiding doing this will screw up your pattern for the whole week.

I've suffered from screwed up sleep for years and managed to fix it a few months ago for the first time since I was a kid.

Believe it or not, I now very often get off to sleep by playing on my DS or PSP, it sometimes takes a bit of time but I eventually my eyes start to become heavy and I know it's time. This might not work for you though and docs don't recommend TV, etc, but I find laying in bed with something like that takes my mind off stress and the sort of negative thoughts that keep me up all night.

Only use your bed for sleeping - very important! You can ignore this a bit once you're sleeping well again, but I had to really motivate myself not to use my bed to browse the net / cyber with hotukdealers, etc. This is a subconcious thing, your brain will associate beds and the nice feel of a matress with sleep again.

I've tried a load of sleeping pills, anti anxiety / depression pills (big dosages too) and nothing's worked. In the end it comes down to you. :)

Good luck!

next time you wake up at 5pm, stay up all night and the following day, then go to bed at a normal time. Yeah youll be knackered but it should work. I do 12 hour shifts, a mix of nights and days and i cope, no offence mate but some of the stuff you post on here does provoke the reaponses that you get.

Sleeping is about routine, you need to get into one as best you can.

Once the routine is broken then you need to make an effort to get back in.

If you are still struggling, then I recommend you search out Holosync from Centrepoint:

http://www.centerpointe.com/

I have used this on and off for years. Basically it uses binaural beats via headphones that take your brain down through the various wave patterns. It has been used by universities, military establishments and others.

I cannot recommend it enough for clearing your mind and allowing greater learning and awareness.

Regards

Chris
