I actually dont feel that bad yet, a bit of a sore stomach and dry eyes and not much energy but I expect it will hit me soon.

I know the best cure for a bad sleep pattern is to stay awake as for the last 2 weeks have been going to bed 4am for the first few nights then on New Years Day was 6am and has been 6-9am every day since.

I did try to go to bed around 6am this morning but parents are arriving around 12 so I wanted to be up for 11am to get a shower and they are taking me up town.

There is a nice coffee shop about 30 minutes walk away that does amazing real coffee with the cafetere that is quite cheap and you get a choice of fresh coffee ground in front of you but that means walking there as there is no bus stops that go near there.

Or I can do the 2 minute walk to uni and get a horrible coffee from the machine, or go to my corner shop, again across the road and buy milk for my cheap nasty instant coffee.

Or go up town and get a can of something like Relentless.

Or get pep pills

And so on etc.

Whats best way without feeling like crap shortly after taking it.

Im a student so havent slept properly for 5 years lol, before then had a sleeping pattern that had me get ready for bed at 3am and be in bed 3.10am and sleeping by 3.45am(except on a bad night)

And wake up 11-12.

Now I feel crap all the time which is in no doubt affected by my sleep pattern lol.

What you need to do is go to bed a couple of hours earlier than usual........the boredom will get you in the end and you'll nod off. It will probably take a good couple of weeks to get in a settled routine again though.

As for today you should be ok till this afternoon as adrenaline will keep you going till then........after that just force yourself to stay awake and know the only reason you feel crap is because you are tired and then try to sleep earlier tonight. :) It's amazing how little sleep you need to keep going, last year when my eldest was really ill in Addenbrookes i managed 5 days.

I can manage about 3 days but not done that since I was 16 which was 10 years agto, back when I was 21 I did a few all nighters when bored and stayed awake till midnight day after so around 36 hours.

I just know I will have quite a few hours of feeling totally awful and struggling tos tay awake but plan to stay awake till midnight tonight if I can.

I think its partly light as I am fine till it starts getting dark hence me able not wanting to sleep in summer and staying up all night then.

With me if I am in bed around 1 or 2am I can fall asleep within minutes or less but unless I wake up after about 4 or 5 hours sleep I need about 12 hours also because of that I snore a lot so its probably uni stress lol as its been more and more frequent over the last 18 months.

Before that it took me 30-60 minutes to sleep but I rarely snored unless I had no sleep the night before or was really drunk, now the only times I cant sleep is when I know I have to like last night lol.
