hi all,
currently my break down cover is expiring with autonational rescue which i payed £66 for 1 year including roadside assistance, relay, recovery & homestart.
is there anything cheaper out there - had a look at AA but for all of the above features comes up to £130 online without quidco. i am assuming worst case scenarios what if quidco is not paid???
thanks

You have to look for the offers there was one on here its finished now but you get the basic online with AA and its £29 but you get £19 back from quidco then a couple of day i rang AA with a code from here and they added everything else for £10 so all in all it cost £20 for everything.
Just wait a while im sure they or another company will have an offer soon.

autoaid £37 covers everything roadside/home/relay/accomodation and more only thing is you pay recovery firm then claim back within 14 days

Green Flag is better than AA/RAC if you are only ever really in your own car. Also you can call whoever you are with and say you are not happy with renewal price and what will they offer - I did that with RAC last year and got £30 taken off

I've been looking for the same thing and autoaid was also recommended by moneysavingexpert as the best all-rounder http://www.autoaidbreakdown.co.uk/works01.htm

First Call GB about £42 for full cover. This covers the car not the driver.

I went with them at cheapest cover for £29 per year... only things it doesn't cover that I might have wanted is the home start and key service, which comes with full cover for £69 per year.
Don't really need the home start though, as little chance of breaking down within 1 mile or whatever it is.. never happened in the 20 years I've been driving anyway, lol
The key service would be a good one though -

If your vehicle cannot be driven due to keys locked in the vehicle or broken,
ERS will arrange and pay for the cost of a replacement key and up to £40 for a
call out charge.
If you are stranded more than 25 miles from your home due to theft or loss of
your keys ERS will pay up to £50 per day for alternative road, rail or air travel
or car hire to allow you and your party to reach your destination.
The most they will pay in any one year for this cover is £350.

And they don't have a maximum number of callouts per year like some companies do :)

????

the under 10 years old only applies for european breakdown cover.

European cover is only available for vehicles under 10 years old for policies commencing 1st April 2009 onwards.
