Car breakdown cover help

Im looking for some breakdown cover at the moment i did a search on Moneysupermarket.com and found Rescue my car as the cheapest but i have read that they charge £40 everytime they are called out which is daft. So i checked on their website and you can get the cover for slightly higher price but they dont charge the £40 for a call out which is strange.

Anyway i read the terms and conditions and it says on there that they do not cover modified cars. So as my car has been lowered and has aftermarket alloys on this would count me out with them.

So does anyone know a company which would cover me and they are cheap aswell. The cover which was offered to me was the Platinum one.

Thanx

contact your own insurer should be around £40 for everything excluding europe

make sure you get

rescue(basic cover)
home rescue
relay (for if you are more than 10 miles from your house)

i was going with the AA £100 a year, and £40 cashback through quidco

contacted my insurer and they said £36 for the year

Im with Tesco Insurance i will have to give them a call to see what the offer they didnt offer me anything when i took out the policy

How does the autoaid cover work?

Never had any problems in the past with AA and my Highly Modified Cars.

Use Quidco for AA to get Cashback.

should you break down, either call them and they will send someone out or else organise the recovery yourself using any reasonable means, either pay on a card or get invoiced.

Send receipts of to Autoaid and they will repay you usually within 10days (so before a credit card statement needs paying).

The cover is excellent for the price, it covers both you and your spouse, not the car so is great for multiple car owners.

So it costs £37 a year. If you breakdown you ring them they get someone to come and deal with it which you pay for and then you get the refunded within 10 days??

I bought mine with Tesco points today.

I purchase from RAC - they are offering free Recovery selvice if you take out Roadside and Home Start. Works out about £80 for the year, but your not able to use quidco with the offer. AA offering the same things for almost £120!

Just rang my insurance and they said it would be £47.25 for the cover which would cover everything except european cover which i wont need anyway.

Thought it would have been cheaper than that gonna have another look on moneysupermarket again.
