how are you bleeding it ? did all the fluid dissapear from the brake master cylinder ? if th master cylinder completly emptied then you will need to bleed all the brakes.
#3
You need to bleed all 4

Yeah the fluid did start to disappear but then stopped i think. The pedal just goes flat to the floor now.

sounds like the master emptied & you have air in the system, bleed all the brakes.

do you think that a garage will do it for me tomorrow before 3pm? and will it be expensive?

errrrm you'd have to ring and ask, we couldnt , we're fully booked, £40-50 ish depends where you live, if you've bled one why not try the others before getting a garage involved.

As the poster above said you will have to bleed the whole system, starting with the wheel thats furthest away from the (master cylinder, where you put the fluid).rear wheels first, the last wheel should be the nearest one to the master cylinder, you must not let the fluid run out in the master cylinder or you will have to start again! A garage will charge you about £12 a wheel, hope this helps abit.

Is it that expensive then to bleed them? i tried doing the front 2 wheels but the nipples was bad and i couldn't loosen them, any tips?
#10
siezed nipples are a pain, if they snap your ******ed, you could try some wd40, pair of mole grips and gently rock the nipple too 'n fro see if it will move, if you cant get them free or they snap, new caliper time.

Yeah thats what i thought, just gonna let the garage do it then if they snap them they repair them? Cheers for your help mate

This could be a can of worms if you arn't carefull.if you snap one of the nipples you will have to buy new brake calliper or slave cylinder.you will need a good fitting ring spanner prob 8mm,can of wd40,wire brush to clean the nipples then give them a good soaking a couple of times with wd40,if they still dont budge leave them overnight, give the wd a chance to do its work,if this fails you would have to heat them up with a burner (not advisable if your not confident about this)

we use a pressurised system that forces the brake fluid through the brake master cylinder, requires one person & its very succesfull in getting all the air out.

Sometimes to only way to get your nipples free .....................OOH Mrs ! is to use a bit of heat . I keep a small gas blowtorch handy for the job . If there really bad you will have to use molegripps to free them and make sure you replace them .One very handy gadget when doing your brakes is the Easybleed system , must of have mine for over thirty years and still going strong .Makes the job VERY easy . Might be a good thing in any case ..............to replace your brake fluid ...............it's hydroscopic you know ! and should be changed every 12/24 months . I never do , unless I've done some serious work on my brakes , like replacing pipes etc .

no they wont repair them, if you mean by trying to get the snapped nipple out, they will just replace with a new caliper. To be honest trying to extract broken nipples out without damaging the thread isnt very sucessfull.

yer richp i have an old one of them, works off a spare wheel, still works great,i'm sure i seen one in my local parts shop for a tenner.
if i was you sean i would pay a garage to do it,you might end up paying double if things go wrong, good luck mate.

Personally I'd just go and wd40 the nipples now and go buy an easibleed kit for a tenner tommorow:oops:

Depending on where you take it they may well have trouble with the nipples and tell you you need calipers anyway:whistling:
