Car help - my central locking isn't working (VW Polo 1.6 CL)

I am having trouble with my central locking. It suddenly stopped working. All fuses are fine as I checked them. Have to unlock the back doors by hand once either the driver door or passenger door is open by key. Any knowledgable people around that can help? Many thanks.

it happens to me sometime on my vauxhall. put the key in ignition and then turn it on. turn on the ignition and do not start the car.
now press the switch on key to open and close the central locking.

this pairs the transmitter and receiver.

Is there any movement whatsoever on the locks when you press the button? Do the lights flash?

Many thanks for that. I have no clue where to find this pump. Will have to refer to the handbook

This has happened to me on my VW Passat.
On the Passat under the passenger seat there is a box where all the wires go in and come back.
When the weather has rained for a while the wires get wet and corrode.
So I have to fit new connectors or cut the corroded pieces off and reconnect.

Just a thought, is it possible that you have locked the car from the passenger side? If so, it may have affected the system. You may have to unlock the car from the passenger side and then lock the car from the driver's door. Its got to be worth a try at least.
I seem to remember that being a potential issue before remote central locking.
