Can anybody give me any helpful advice on the best company to go with as i havent got the time to go through all the policies and word of mouth is usually the best way to find a good one.
Also is there any giving good free gifts, any decent cashback or points etc..
Many Thanks

There are so many variables involved, age, type of car, engine size, your cats inside leg measurement etc, its hard to recommend, as per MSE they recommend the price comparison sites, but whenever I have tried the quotes are expensive.

As I have a Subaru, I tend to go on the Forester forum to ask for advice, this year it saved me over £500 on the price comparison sites.

Whats your age?
Whats your car?
Is it standard?

I have pain stakingly gone through the comparison sites and they seem to be very cheap but when i goto the site it suggests and do a quote it is very high. I only have a Ford Galaxy 03 and no extras on it. I am with churchill and at the moment Tesco seem to be best with the £40 off shopping or fuel plus points but i thought it was worth checking on here as im no good at looking at the small print plus i would love a free sat nav

Try http://www.moneysupermarket.com/insurance/

I got quoted £291 - Remember to add an older driver as a second driver regardless of whether they need access to your car, I save £75 by adding my father in. Also, play around with the Job title and sector - makes a lot of difference. Dropping the word Engineer from my job role and replacing it with Analyst save me a futher £30.

Also saved my brother in law £250 on his insurance renewal.

If you have a Thatcham Cat 1/2 approved immoboliser.alarm, even if it is factory fitted, tell the insurance company it's not and give the Make and Model, guaranteed to save you some more money.

Use: http://www.moneysupermarket.com/insurance/

Once you find a quote you are happy with, save the ref. no.
Contact the company direct - they will give you a silly quote to try and juice out more money, but then tell them your online quote, give them the reference and tell them to re run the quote, provide the EXACT same details given on the online quote and they will give you the online price.

They tried it with me and my brother in law but we never let them fool us like that.

I always thought adding drivers made it more so thanks for that advise

Strange
Just thought i would amend the tesco quote to give the additional driver a whirl and it was a lot more so i took her off it again and it is still more than the original quote???

After you have checked out the usual comparison sites, check with the Post Office. They are currently giving £50 cash back (after 60 days).
Mine arrived yesterday. :-D

dont forget quidco, some good cahsback offers on there

I got mine with admiral.

I'm 21, with no no-claims driving a 1.1 litre car. I added both my parents as named drivers and it was £604 for the year. Everywhere else was £700+

Hi,
I found Swift Cover cheapest and go via Quidco for some cashback.
watch out for cookies if you have been browsing the comparison sites.

Good Luck

I currently have my policy with Churchill and they say 5years (max) no claims but i should have more than 5 yrs and they just goto 5yrs as a max figure so how do i prove to another insurer that i have more?

Try Virgin car insurance, I pay monthly and there is no fee for doing so, and I find them quite cheap.
