Im looking to get a Saxo in july when my insurance is up for renewal but i have the money now and im really desperate to get a saxo!

I currently drive a fiesta on my mums insurance (im a named driver) and my insurance is just over a grand a year.

Is there anyway you can buy a new car but transfer your insurance to that new car instead of ending the fiesta insurance and strating a new one up (losing that 5 months no claims?)

yeah just ring them up and tell them the change in circumstances, tell them you have a new car and they will alter your policy for you.

Well i dont like fiestas...micras are gay....corsas are meh...so saxo is only really sporty looking small cheap car out there.

I will go for the 1.4 furio.

Thanks people! The only thing though is that im a named driver on diamond (im male) but obviously i cant get insurance on my own as im a male and diamond is for girls so im not sure (they are part of the admiral group so they could transfer me to another company in their group).

As long as i wont lose that 5 months no claims so far if i change! I will have a ring round tomorrow.

Cheers once again.

Are you earning a no claims bonus seeing as you're only a named driver?

i think your mum would have to transfer it over and say the car is hers depends on where you are buying and then she would have to get a policy for a second car for the fiesta...

I'm a guy and Sheila's Wheels were once the cheapest quote I got. I went for the 2nd cheapest quote though.. :whistling:

unfortunatly you cant earn ncb as a named driver, some companies do a system where you earn ncb as a named driver but these can only be used with that company. (Direct line do this.. mate took this insurance out and then found out later he could not transfer the ncb to a different company as he was earning them as a named driver)

I can think of a much better car with a 1.4 engine

you havent earned any NCB only being a named driver. You have to be the main policyholder.

Its also illegal to be the main driver AND only insured as a named driver on the fiesta so your insurance is invalid anyway (unless of course your Mum is the main driver of the fiesta).

remember seeing something I think that was called youngmarmalade.co.uk, where young drivers could get a new car with insurance, but would cost less than the normal insurance per month?? maybe sounds a bit daft, but thing that what it was, unfortunately I am not so young!! and therefore this was not something that I could utilise and therefore did not look into.

hope it helps:thumbsup:

I am earning a NCB because diamond do it so if i transfer to another group in the company (the company group is called admiral) i should be able to do it.

yes but now you'll be stuck with them as the NCB will be non-transferable so will end up paying far mroe in the long run as Admiral aren't cheap
