I've been surprised that Admiral's renewal quote has been the cheapest I could find for the last two years.

They all do this, shop around and you'll save 30% plus.

Its absolutely crazy! You would think they would wanna keep their existing customers and do a good deal with them!

Had to cancel it anyway as im selling my car.. but what a rip off!

Did you actually put your details into Elephants site instead of Confused.com ?

I'm with Elephant and they tried to more than double my renewal lat year after a claim, so I went on the comparison sites and found a quote for round about what I'd paid previously. I rang Elephant and told them I wanted to cancel the renewal as had a far cheaper quote. They asked who it was with I think it was Admiral, they said that Admiral was their sister company so would price match it.May be worth looking at A dmiral and then ringing Elephant with their quote

Its common practice I think! I NEVER stay with a company for successive years, change yearly!

Don't forget cashback if you can  Same thing happened with my home insurance :-(

Try moneysupermarket.com they are the best for cheap quotes, used them last time and had one for under a £100!!!

I was with direct line, got my renewal quote at nearly £100 more than the year before, didnt want to change companies as they cover me for vandalism cover, checked confused etc and the quote for direct line on there was cheaper than the last years quote!!!

I rung direct line up and explained and the lady said she couldnt do this price on a renewal I had to cancel it and start a new years cover, she thought it was ridiculous herself and said the price on confused was for new customers only lol so much for looking after loyal customers!

i've been driving nearly 3 years now with the same no claims and my insurance only went down £30.00 last year I could not believe it, and I shopped around for a cheaper quote

I'm with Elephant. Never again, I would rather chew my arm off and club myself to death with it than insure with these robbers again.

no thanks, I'd rather have the cashback in my pocket, not theirs, and take the same policy out.

elephant done this to me so i went on to there website entered all my details and got a new quote which offered me about £100 less and i phoned them up and told them i wanted this price and they gave it to me.

yep got my renewal with them. I paid just over £900, then when my renewal came it was just under £1,300. I cancelled straight away, but they offer to bring the price down to £1,100. They are rip-off merchants, who make money out of people who still do not have internet or no time to shop around.

I ended up going with someone else and paying £860.

No, don't use them ever......I'm still getting annoying phone calls from the last time I used them, despite checking all the appropriate privacy options, I feel an Ofcom complaint may be needed.
