Got my renewal quote in a wee while ago and been looking at quotes since. Every quote is more expensive than last year. Last year I was paying £32 a month now this has jumped away up to £47 a month and I have had no accidents, and only things that have changed is Lee changing professions and us having a baby.

£15/month is a pretty unreasonable jump IMO.

The guy on the phone said most monthly payments are increased to at least £40.

I just don't know how I can get it cheaper and don't think it's fair to be paying an extra £15 quid!!!

Insurer is Elephant. Had individual quotes from the cheaper ones such as diamond, admiral etc.

Blooming ridiculous!!!

Okay, well you pay the extra £15 with a big frown on your face then.

have you tried using a comparison website, btw admiral and elephant are the same company and diamond is NOT cheap quoted me £1000 for insurance I pay £350 pa just now, also if you pay it in a lump sum it will work out cheaper as most companies charge interest for paying monthly

Hi,

Just to let you know, the following 12 months Car insurance premiums is due to rocket due to 2009/2010's snow and Dec 2010 snow.

As of today, Dec 2010, the insurance companies have paid out more in the last 30 days then they did on the last 3/4 months due to the poor weather and accident damage.

Expect an approx 20% rise next year

There's a lot online about this..

It is well known that once you have all maximum discounts ie. 5 years no claims, over 25 etc... Your insurance price will go up every year even if you don't make any claims. My advice would be to change insurance companies every year to get the best possible price.

I know this from experience, I have never been given a renewal price that was the same or lower than the price I initially paid.

Even tried quotes and looking through TCB but still nothing reasonable.

Yes mine went up loads this year too. The thing that gets me is they claim to be giving me 75% no claims discount but if I put the same details and select no no claims discount the quote is only 31% more than the claimed 75% discounted price.

Stop paying by monthly instalments, that will save you a fair amount.

They charge an arm and a leg in interest.

This is 100% Not true & is a cop-out for Insurance company's to get more money from us.
around 6-7-8 Years ago we had 10x's more Non-Insured drivers on the roads, but with Police having the Reg Computer at the Wheel most Non-Insured drivers get caught as soon as they pass a Traffic Police car..........Any one from Traffic Police on here would be able to confirm this.
