I currently have 3 years no claims bonus and come September that will become 4 years. However i have taken my car off the road and wont be getting my new one until September. If i was to cancel my car insurance to get some money back would i lose this 4th year of no claims, with the 4th year not being completed yet?
Thanks.

Thanks. I think i will leave it as i will be changing insurance companies anyway, so its not worth it.

for what you would lose cancelling why not just let it run out and pick up the NCD anyway. Once past 6 months there is little value left

when you say you are taking the car off the road, you aren't selling it are you or letting someone else insure it - that could cause problems if you are.

Im trading it in for a new car. Could that cause any problems?

well it can't be insured twice.
You can usually suspend a policy though - that might help.
