Car Insurance Question regarding No Claims Discount

Ok, I have never made a claim, been driving 20 years but only had my own insurance for approx 10 years.
Ive been with several companies according to the notches on my bed post! but my NCD should be 9-10yrs, but my current insurer has given me a renewal today and it says 6! (and only a 72% discount)

Thing is, some websites only let you select up to 5 or more years NCD even if you have 6-100! which is what I think has happened here. I cant remember who i was with before this one, or the one before that. so how do I prove I should have more (other than sending a pic of the bed post?)

6yrs is probably the max no claims they take into account

It's mostly a gimmick and 5-6 years is full no claims discount with the majority of companies.
Whilst getting quotes just try inputting any number it lets you between 5 - 9 and I'd be surprised if prices vary that much with most.

Agreed, by rights my insurance should say 20 years NCD but it only says 10 IIRC

If you have 20yrs NCD they should be paying YOU!

Im still paying nr £300 (though that's SDC+business use too)
