Car Runs On Air

This five-seater car runs on compressed air, has zero pollution,
very low running costs and will cost just over $5,000.

It's a great idea but it's blatantly the beginning of the end as we know it....I knew they'd eventually start charging for air consumption. :giggle:

According to the link, it'll cost about $15,000 and I can't say it looks as nice as some but it'll save £1,000's in the long run.

The tanks can be filled with air from a compressor in just three minutes - much quicker than a battery car.
Alternatively, it can be plugged into the mains for four hours and an on-board compressor will do the job.
For long journeys the compressed air driving the pistons can be boosted by a fuel burner which heats the air so it expands and increases the pressure on the pistons. The burner will use all kinds of liquid fuel

Good that engineers are exploring new technologies. It looks like a good idea for short journeys, but so did the Sinclair C5!!
