hi sorry if this seems a daft question but i have a 10year old car which is basically on its way out, ive taken it to the garage today as its not been running properly the last few days, anyway they said it was the coils or something then when i rang to see if it was ready they then said that as they were reversing it out the brakes went, i didnt want to spend alot of money getting it fixed as im thinking of doing the scrappage deal so dont want to throw away money, i was wondering does your car have to be running to do the scrappage deal or could i scrap mine without getting the work done, as it has a valid MOT and tax, ive tried to find out on the net but cannot seem to find the answer.

You can get rid of it as it is. No need to spend any money on it. :)
As long as it has a valid MOT and you have owned the car for more than one year then go for it.
scrappage scheme i think the car requires an mot
no it will be fine, as long as you have had it more than a year-which u have!
