as long as you price it right it will sell.
The rubbish i see people buying never ceases to amaze me, but anything to do with kids usually sell well.

They're just made of plastic, unsure of what can deteriorate over time so long as the strapping is in good condition. I'd have no problem buying one second hand if it was in great nick unless someone can point me in the direction of a report/study that says otherwise.

you are most likely correct, however, there was a campaign years ago(and I mean years-lol) on "thats life",esther rantzens consumer show giving dire warnings to parents NEVER to buy a childs car seat second hand because it may no longer comply to standard if it had been in an accident or whatever and that the average layman could not spot the tiniest problem that could render it useless.

That programme were pretty keen on scaremongering when possible, and they are better constructed now than they were then, but that report has always stuck in my mind and I would never buy second hand car seats. Probably totally irrational of me,but tbh they are available so cheap now brand new Its one of those things I personally wouldnt buy used.

Regarding the car boot - don't take videos! Every time I go I see hundreds of videos. No one uses them anymore X)

on the theme of car seats i have heard that you shouldnt buy 2nd hand as they could have been in an accident but have sold mine on ebay quite easily

Further down the page, It says it's 6 years on wiki. I think it's to do with the fact that plastic can deteriorate over time, especially in hot/cold cars. same with the straps and the manufacturer won't gte the safety rating after this time, same if it was in an accident, I am sure there is more around on it somewhere, but look on your seats they should be stamped. People are becoming a lot more aware of it now as I know in my ANC this time, it's the "buzz" thing, check your carseat date if you are re-using. This is my 4th and 1st I knew about it properly!

Cheers, I may not purchase one second hand after all.

I bought the second stage car seat from a boot sale and if I need to buy another one I will notbuy second hand as the strap on one side kept coming out from the back of the chair not good and I paid good money for it. So in my opinion don't buy car seat from boot sale unless you know the person
