Personally I wouldnt take the car to Kwik Fit, you will end up with them quoting you insane amounts for things that probably wont need doing.

It really depends what car you are looking at. If it was a BMW wanting a full service, there are a couple of hundred checks that are done by the dealer. Its alot more than oil and a filter plugs etc.

It its a quality car I would advise seeing a good car dealer or a specialist in the make of car you have. Its worth it in the end.

its nothing special, its a rover 200 i got for a decent price, sailed through its mot but was told to get a full service as my friends father who i purchased it from said it was due one.

I wouldn't trust Kwik Fit to pump up my tyres. They're about as bad as you can get.

Aircanman's advice is good - it depends on the car. Use a Mobile Mechanic if it's nothing special and over 5 years old as they're usually cheap and reliable. If it's decent, I'd take it to either a franchised dealer, or a marque specialist if it's 5+ years old.

I would see an independent garage to be honest. Ask a couple of mates, see if they know a good mechanic. Would be a lot cheaper.

any local garage - never kwikfit!
