Okay I'm stocked now..
I am an IT graduate but have no interest in IT. I really have no idea what career is for me.
I am thinking to visit a career adviser. Any suggestions?
Google is not so helpful.

IT covers a lot of areas, have you ruled them all out?

"Okay I'm stocked now"

What does that mean?

I'm stocked means I thought too much about it and didn't get anywhere

An adviser that does psychometric testing would help you I think.

Really?

I'm an IT grad, granted I have a job but I hate it and am working on getting a new job.

What does interest you? What work do you think you would be happy to do or would like to try? Speak to your uni careers advisor is my advice.

I like being a lawyer but I wouldn't study 5 more years just to find out is not for me.
I'm also good at advising and problem solving. And IT of course.

If you are completely lost on what kind of job you want, then look into your interests and take it from there. No point having a job you hate...

Head for St Tropez. You might be able to blag a job as a deckhand and cruise the med. Or you might win a few million in the casino and then why worry about the day job?

Have you tried speaking to friends who graduated at the same time to see what they did? Or is there a Uni Forum you use to use that has advice?

Do you have any workplace experience? I didn't have a clue what career I wanted. Got a job in an industry that I was interested in - really varied role and then worked out which parts I was good at (most parts - obviously, LOL). Once you've had some experience you can then work out what your workplace skills are - lots of your skills can be transferred into other industries. Psychometric testing is good, but I think you need to be relating your answers to how you react in a work environment, which you won't necessarily know until you've had the experience.

"I am an IT graduate but have no interest in IT"

Silly question coming up....... why did you study it then?

You need to ask yourself what you want to do - no point asking a career advisor, they'll just tell you the same.
You must have an ambition, dream, talent, interest that get's you by the balls/lady balls?

What would that be?
