Has anyone else got the full phone and broadband package from CPW please? We pay our call charges to them ATM, but BT broadband and line rental. Current combined charges are about 40.00 monthly, but they have offered.... all calls free (except premium rate) including a handful of oversesas numbers, broadband and line rental, plus about 40gb monthly download for 20.49. Obviously CPW total package is about half the current charge, but are they a reliable? - as you will be tied into an 18 month contract, i don't want to jump out of the frying pan into the fire :?

I have both broadband and talk 3 international with cpw. They upgraded our exchange to digital so we can get upto 8meg, and I get free calls all day every day to geographical numbers and 30+ countries. Costs me 19.99 month plus 1.00 for paper bill, it is good value and I have had no problems. However I have seen some people on other forums have had issues we transfering onto their service and **** customer relations.

I have the same package - been with them since March, had a technical problem (not of their making) a couple of months ago and their tech support were excellent, sorted me out quickly and efficiently. I know they had problems when they launched last year, due to unprecedented demand, but that's all done and dusted.

I use my home phone a lot (work from home) and I was previously paying BT around 60 squids a month for BB and phone - now pay Talk Talk 20.49 a month and get an e-mailed bill summary, which lets me link to a fully detailed bill online.

Go for it!

Thanks Rooney and Lulubell. That sounds promising...it was a bit difficult listening to the 'salesman' at about 5.15 - when he asked if i had any questions i asked if he had any suggestions what i could give the kids for tea, as it had just burnt while i was trying to listen to him!! (and he kept calling me "luv")

P.S did you take advantage of the digi freeview box? The literature said it was free, but the blokey on the phone, said that you get the box and 2 months satanta viewing free, and if you don't want to continue with Satanta - you have to give the box back!!

i have talk2international pretty good quick setup. Though only badpoints are thats internet some times cuts out at night but a restart of the router fixes that also the phone line seems a lower quality than bts one, but still 30% cheaper than bt

No, they weren't offering that when I joined them and, apart from that, I have Sky:)

:x I have had full CPW package for almost 18 months, as has a neighbour across the road - who has had same problems as me.

Things constantly go wrong with the phone - unable to dial Virgin mobiles, caller display problems, unexpected service outages. '8 Meg' (ha!) Broadband often so slow it is worse than dial-up, despite we being only 300 metres from local exchange. Customer Service based in India, I sometimes cannot understand operators accent. They are generally unhelpful - problems remain unresolved. Customer Services threaten you with huge engineer call-out charge if he attends and finds that fault is with your equipment (faults can lie with your equipment, BT network, CPW network - who knows what the answer is?).

I suggest looking elsewhere, starting with BT - maybe they will give you a deal at less cost than standard if you say you are thinking of cable or CPW instead. That is what I intend to do when 18 months is up! :whistling:

All service providers now will warn you about charges, the way I've been told to look at as an engineer is if it's before the NTE5 (master socket) then it's non chargeable after the master socket or damage caused by the customer is chargeable. You can test this via the test socket behind the face plate on the NTE5.

Surely a retention number is for existing customers???
