I sent my nokia phone worth £75 for recycling to this company 2 weeks back via their prepaid envelope. They seemed to be a part of e2save, so i trusted the company and sent my phone. I have got the proof of posting too. But even after 2 weeks my phone's status in their web is saying 'Awaiting receipt'. Called them and they said they are having delays.
But did a search later and found that they keep saying that they havent received the phone or the phone is damaged and wont pay the full amount.
I knw its a bit late but worried that I wont get anything back.
Anyone had any problems with their recycling? Is their anyway i can get my money back?
thanks

I know it's too late now but you should always send items of value
through a service which gives you enough insurance to cover item if it becomes lost. I usually use special delivery and your covered up to £500. I'm sure you can also add insurance onto standard parcels service. Most recycling firms will have a disclaimer that you post at your own risk.

It's a tricky one, if they claim they haven't received it, whether truthful or not your only option would be to claim via royal mail. £28 is the max compensation I think for standard items.

Sorry to say it, but you should have sent it with some type of tracking to prove they have received it.
If it is lost, you can only claim up to £41 insurance for normal posting (including recorded) but anything over that should be sent Special Delivery with insurance up to £500.
Hopefully it will have arrived and be processed soon as they told you that they had a backlog.

From their site FAQ

We will send you an email notifying you of receipt of your mobile phone. As freepost is handled by the Royal Mail it unfortunately can sometimes take up to 15 working days for items to arrive.

If we have not received your mobile phone within this time period then it may possibly be lost in the post. In order to make a claim you will need to contact the Royal Mail on 08457 740 740 or visit http://www.royalmail.com to find out more.

Recorded won't ensure it arrives, it travels with normal mail and only difference is it requires a signature on receipt. Just as easy for a recorded item to get lost as a standard. Special delivery is way to go

Seriously, if your sending anything of value only send special delivery, or standard parcels with added insurance.
As I said before recorded delivery items are no different to normal post, they are not tracked through the system, only difference is a signature is required. If your packet is lost royal mail will only compensate you to the sum of 100 first class stamps.
Learned this the hard way

I sent my phone last Friday and still waiting. Not overly bothered if I get nothing as the phone was just sat there in a drawer. So mine was sent a week ago and still waiting. I would imagine that they have had alot from the start of the new year what with people getting new phones for xmas etc!

Yeah those reviews are pretty bad, worst I've seen actually. What made you decide to go with them, do they pay more? I usually use mazuma, they pay slightly less but service is excellent

well after 3 weeks, the phone has actually arrived and it apparently passed all the checks at the the same time as it arrived and they are preparing my full payment!!! Worth the wait lol
