ISIS have issued a fatwa against cats because they say the animals are against a jihadist’s ‘vision, ideology and beliefs’.
The new law, introduced by senior ISIS clerics yesterday under Islamic law, forbids the indoor breeding of cats in the Iraqi city of Mosul.

popular with certain people stabbing people randomly, guess they'll be driving cars at people soon.

On a side note. From your link.

Belgium has been on high alert since 32 people were killed in suicide bombing attacks on the Brussels airport and metro on 2 March.

Such sloppy reporting

What difference does that minor typo make to the crimes being committed or the elevated risk. Just trolling.

Quite clearly a reporter should ensure that the date of such an atrocity is correct if it's going to be quoted. A tiny ask.

In answer to your question, it makes no difference. Why you ask it is a different matter, perhaps a matter than only you can answer.

I'm not arguing with you. First it was trolling, now it's baiting and trolling. I do hope there's not a 3rd response.

I suppose it could have been a typo '2' '22'. Anyway Just to be on the safe side he left out the exact date of the Munich shooting in this article about the increase in the number of sexual assaults at Oktoberfest 2016.

Yeah definite typo, but pretty poor for a national newspaper. All ok with his Oktoberfest report right up to his last sentence.

At another Oktoberfest in Wolmirstedt, a man was reportedly "separated from his ear" in a knife attack.. What a strange way of expressing someone getting their ear cut off.

I must stop nitpicking. Aparantely it's no good for me.

Perhaps its another typo.... As it was a report on sex attacks perhaps it should have read 'man was separated from his [underw]ear'.
Shouldn't let it bother you too much, since the Indy went online only it is just a glorified blog.

second, hating cats has nothing to do with religion.

The ancient Egyptians held cats in the highest esteem, the penalties for injuring or killing a cat were severe. They worshipped a Cat Goddess, often represented as half feline, half woman, whom they called Bastet. The main center for the worship of Bastet was in northern Egypt at the city of Bubastis.

Cats in Ancient Egypt .

In all seriousness prior to Wahhabism being prominent in Saudi Arabian Sunni Political movement, the Islamic Scholars were respected for their tolerance, intelligence whereby visiting many religious sites and monuments of ancient civilizations.

The Turks absolutely love their cats.

And I'm sure Saudis almost have a protected status for them in some of their cities according to a friend that worked their for 3 years as a teacher.

ISIS seem to be full of ****

Their leader has a BA, MA and PhD in Islamic studies so I guess at least one of them has.

Hundreds of thousansds of cats are making their way across the Mediterranean using catamarans. Kittens drown when their catamatans capsized and bodies washed onto the beaches. EU got UK catcalls as they failed to force PM to take in an allocation of 20,000 cats, so far Britain has taken in a mere 10 cats. In the meantime the UK cat Independent Living Party has declared fatwa against construction companies using cat's eyes on road on grounds of animal cruelty. However opposition party laboured on the point that as long as cats were electrically stunned, it was painless to gouge their eyes out.
