CBT with driving licence post 2001

Just want to add provisional A entitlement to ride a motorbike to do my CBT, not really wanting to spend £50 on a separate license.

Anyone more clued up on it than me?

Wish I had ticked the box when I first applied now.

You just need to add the category to your current licence. No other way round it.

Sadly yes, you will have to re-apply - and pay - again to add on motorcycle entitlement. :x:x

I added mine on with my 10 yr renewal on 30th Jan 2010, but passed my bike test in Nov 2008 .

I rang for info and the guy said your still covered to ride as long as you have your pass cert. If you are renewing your licence soon you may as well wait.

Can't I just renew early? Can't wait a future 3yrs to ride a motorbike

Do you know if I can take my CBT on a moped as my licence covers that while I get a provisional motorbike entitlement on my car licence?

You can renew early if you like, but once you have passed you don;'t HAVE to renew straight away if you don't want to pay the £20 renewal fee.

I'm not sure if you can do the test on a moped, i did mine on a Honda CB125 that belonged to my instructor.

Update, looked at the paper part of my licence and it says on there I have provisional entitlement to A (motorbikes), BE (cars with trailors), and GH (rollers and tracked vehicles). So booking my CBT Monday :)
