I can only presume if you took out the 3 payment plan you wouldn't have to pay the last payment, out of curiousity, ( on the assumption that item could be faulty and there being no returns?

If you have credit with them you will have to pay, they may even be able to demand all payments immediately rather than waiting for the remainder.
