Me Coz I aint watching it:thumbsup::santa:

This will be no game like the Everton one, but hopefully 2-1 to the Arsenal. Good luck to you though Hoops.
#6
Those who thinks Arsenal will run out easy winners obviously don't know their football.

Celtic are not Everton. Especially on a big European night.

I say 2-1 to Celtic at home but probably a drubbing away :-(
banned#7
Wish was finished then to get the preparations started early but stuck in until 5.

You going to the game? I'm just gonna watch it in the boozer if there's any room left in them with Celtic game and U2 playing tonight

Oh like Man U were going to pump Celtic the 2 years they had them in group stages?? Over last 10 years Celtic have beaten English teams in Europe more times than they've lost!!

And now you've got a manager who thinks he can play football even with rubbish players. He did it at West Brom and he'll try it again tonight.

Ahhh the ignorance!

Hull, Stoke and Burnley really are the superpowers of euopean football :-D :-D :-D

You obviously no nothing about Celtic so best to keep quiet.

We know we are the underdogs but then again we were when we beat Stuttgart, Lyon, Juventus, Valencia, Man Utd, Liverpool, Benfica, Porto, Barcelona, AC Milan in the last few years

That was a few years a go, Celtic have lost a few players since then, In all fairness United made hard work of them, Usually did enough.

Also, as said above, getting wrecked starting at 12 will be fun for the footy later, at least you'll be able to say that you cant remember the goals raining in!

Two of those teams were promoted last year and their managers managed to keep their teams up....

what happened to the manager who wasn't good enough to keep his team up??????
#20
How many of your illustrious wins have actually mattered?

I think it'll be tight tonight but Arsenal to nick it late on with an Arshavin strike for me, maybe 2-1

Thats exactly what the United supporters said when they were coming to Glasgow. Great thing is all a Celtic fan has to say is they have a chance of a shock and EPL fans go mental cos they think they have best league in the world. Fact is Celtic have a few players that turned down english clubs because Celtic is one of the biggest clubs in the world. Maybe don't have the money of EPL clubs but for fan base and stadium size it beats all but a few english clubs

The only player of importance Celtic lost in Nakamura. While Arsenal have lost a lot of important players last few years including this summer

I think this will be great game. Hopefully Celtic will give Arsenal a good "beating", don't want those Londoners winning do we.

C;mon you HOOPS

Anyways, I hope you have a great day OP, should be a good game to watch

Its proven we have the best league in the world, last three years look who has been in last 8/4 of CL? To say we got mental is abit harsh lol

As for op getting abuse? There is no abuse?? He makes a thread on football, so we give opinions on what we think and suddenly he is getting abuse? Wouldnt like you on my watch fella lol

Cheers mate

Some people just likes to argue for the sake of it. On the other hand, i'd rather just enjoy myself. Glasgow will have a party atmosphere regardless of the score tonight what with the football and the U2 concert in the same city. Just glad am off work tomorrow

I don't think it'll be an easy game for Arsenal but that's not down to the skill level but to the heart shown by the players and fans but if that wasn't the case, then Arsenal would wipe the floor with Celtic.

BTW, Everton are comfortably a better team than Celtic but every team has an off day and the 6-1 drubbing for Everton was clearly that, as Arsenal weren't even trying that hard.

Yeah but what about the teams Arsenal have beaten away, including Real Madrid and Juventus but you honestly don't know what a hostile atmosphere is until you play against a turkish team (I'm a turk, so I know all about that lol) and we destroyed the Chelsea of Turkey by battering Fenerbahce 5-2 at their own ground, which is arguably the most hostile ground in european football.

I have to admit, that is an impressive list of teams but I'm sure the bigger teams were not beaten in knock out situations, as it's a completely different game in the group stages and a knock out must win game.

Arsenal are aware that this game could cost us upto £30m (and we definitely need the money) and your home leg is the only chance you have of going through, so we'll keep it compact and organised and try and catch you with fast flowing football.

I don't want to sound arrogant, as the great thing about football is any team can beat any other team, so we'll just have to see on tonight. :-D

Even then Nakamura was a luxury in most games, yes if you get a free kick around the box he's priceless, otherwise he was too easily forced off the ball for my liking.

It should be a good game tonight, I think Celtic will nick it by a goal (hopefully more). For all those that go on about the EPL being better than the SPL, you're right, most teams in the EPL would hammer the Kilamarnocks, Falkirks and St. Mirrens up here. But Celtic, and to a lesser extent Rangers, have a pretty good record against English teams in competitive games.

In European competition, given a couple of away wins there are times when Celtic could've won their group, meaning an easier draw in the knockout stages, they could've gotten a bit further (damn away record).

Mon' the Hoops!!! :w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t:

I hope the OP doesn't become disheartened by any of the comments, I agree with friendly banter but not at the expense of abusing anyone, so I hope it won't escalate into that. :)

Arsenal have lost our 2 most arrogant and troublesome players, as Ade clearly believed the overhype about himself and thought he was better than the team and although Toure was a great player until he returned from the African Nations cup a couple years ago and returned with an ego thinking he can abuse players and literally have physical fights with our players.

We're better off without those kind of players and our squad has improved vastly with the talent coming through the ranks.
Players like Denilson, Van Persie, Fabregas, Song are constantly improving, as well as other superstars in the team like Fabregas and Arshavin can unlock any team in the world. :-D

Like I said though, anything can happen in football. :)

exactly my point, there is only Celtic and Rangers, if they were to join the EPL i think they might struggle but it would be intresting! I hope Celtic beat Arsenal but i cannot see it in a Million years imo, but some people on here think we are being abusive to the op, so just so he doesnt cry, SPL IS BETTER THAN EPL - ok everyone, we all happy now

Yep, Parkhead may not be the most hostile of grounds, but it's never claimed to be. It's the passion shown by the fans at these games, and the way they lift the whole Celtic team that pushes us forward against arguably superior opposition.

And it wasn't that long ago that Celtic drew AC Milan, home and away, matching them all the way. We only lost that game in extra time due to a bit of Kaka brilliance....

We know we're not as good as Arsenal but whats the point of football if there is no optimism?

Dont really do the whole name calling and arguments so I will echo my sentiments in my post and say I hope every Celtic and Arsenal fan enjoys the game tonight and those who are traveling, I will no doubt catch up with you out on the town for a beer and a laugh.

Realfriendlyman - The difference is the turks would try to intimidate the oppositions. The atmosphere at Celtic park isn't to intimidate but to inspire our own players so its hard to compare the two.

Didnt know you're a turk. Am going to Turkey for the first time next week to Fehtiye, Should be good! :-D

I was just about to mention Celtics away record. :whistling:

Arsenal will undoubtedly play a 4-5-1 formation tonight to control the midfield and support the players that try to be bullied off the park.

We also have some of the deadliest finishers in the game in Van Persie and Eduardo, so expect goals tonight regardless of how much the fans back their team tonight but they will definitely make a difference. :)

Not 1 person has said SPL is a better league or even on par with EPL. All that has been said is Celtic are a good side and have a chance tonight. Nobody has even suggested Celtic are better than Arsenal!

Simply fact is its 11 men againist 11 men on the pitch so anything can happen. Being a Celtic supposter I'm hopeful rather than suspecting a good reult but either way it should be a good game

I'm not arguing, I agree the EPL is better than the SPL with the exception of Celtic and Rangers. And whilst if they were to play in the EPL they may struggle for a season or two, once they had some of the TV money they could attract players of the world-class calibre. Don't forget that both of them are huge teams world-wide, if they had the money they could attract players over the likes of your Chelseas and Arsenals.....
