Hail! Hail! The Celts are here!
What the hell do we care, What the hell do we care,
Hail! Hail! The Celts are here!
What the hell do we care now.

For it's a grand old team to play for,
For it's a grand old team to see,
And if you know the history,
It's enough to make yer heart go oh oh oh oh,
We don't care what the animals say,
What the hell do we care,

For we only know that there's gonna be a show,
And the Glasgow Celtic will be there.

For it's the best darn team in Scotland,
And the players all are grand,
We support the Celtic,
As they are the finest in the land - God bless them,
We'll be there to give the Bhoys a cheer,
When the league flag flies,
And the cheers go up when we know the Scottish Cup,
Is coming home to rest in Paradise.

Roll o the day..if it ever happens ..when Celtic and Rangers can enter the Premiership..lets be frank the competition in Scotland is moderate at most and the top Scottish clubs deserve better competition that will better prepare them for European competition.....mind having said that the Premiership is becoming a two horse race with only two other clubs in contention so maybe Celtic and Rangers are better off where they are???

Anyway congratulations to Gordon Strachan...definately one of my favourite football managers..a man of superb wit.

No way!!

Celtic and Rangers are mediocre. They would be in the bottom half of the premiership. They are scottish (and Irish!) so why the hell should they be in the premiership at the expense of 2 more derserving ENGLISH teams.

Scottich football is crap. And that crap should stay north of the border!

:x

Welsh clubs can enter the Premiership...if they ever get promoted so why not Scottish??...yes I would support the arguement that they should start in the Coca Cola Championship and earn promotion but with their fan base and income I'm sure they could be in the top half of the Premiership....lets be frank..success is all about finance

I am not happy that Welsh clubs can enter the Premiership either!

But even if Rangers and Celtic entered the Championship, that would deny 2 deserving teams of their place. It doesnt matter what level they enter at, it wld still deprive a couple of teams their place through no fault of their own apart from timing.

Instead of lobbying for entry into the premiership, they should be focusing their efforts on finding out why scottish football is so crap and finding ways of making it more competitive!

Scottish football reflects the income in their Country and that situation will never improve as no moneybags is going to invest in their league (well apart from the Russian calamity at Hearts) and they just haven't the fan base, outside of the Glasgow and Edinburgh clubs, to make the big time...and not only do you need money but you also have to attract the best players.

Lets be honest it's much the same in English football...who is ever likely to win the premiership, FA CUP and European Championship outside of the top 4 ....some have tried like Leeds and thus suffered financial suicide....lets see if the new owners of Aston Villa can make progress..somehow I doubt it as any top player wants guaranteed European football.

What would happen to Scottish football if Rangers and Celtic left? In a few years I would imagine it would cease to exist. Then where would you be?

I beg to differ.

If the old firm left then scottish football will be more competitive and young players will be given more of a chance to develop as the smaller teams dont have to bring in forgeiners to come and compete with the old firm.

I agree with Tony - smaller clubs would be alot better off and it would be a lot more competitive in Scotland. But the other guy is also correct - Celtic have a one of largest fan bases in the world and premiership teams would suffer from their presence and also some teams would drop places in the league. I doubt the Rankers would make an impact!! :w00t:

End of the day tho - Scottish Teams should stay Scottish and the same for every other league!!

jameseybhoy you seem to be under the misapprehension that i agree with ian182 whereas nothing could be further from the truth
scottish teams in general and celtic in particular have a record secomd to none when they come up against english competition
even in the champions league this season they beat man utd at home and only lost at old trafford due to a dodgy man utd penalty

theres only one eejit and its you for not reading the threads properly
