Their response usually is "We haven't taken any money yet, come back later. We can offer you credit though". :x

When I went about two weeks ago I was told "We don't have any cash today". :x :viking:

Still I sold mine about 2 months ago for £140 as I thought they lost their value grrr

I went in on Tuesday(Nottm) and they were selling 2 wii's (2nd hand) at £250 each, cant see them paying £221 for one, not much of a profit to be made!
#10
bitsey, theyre £280 instore now.

Also - they never have cash either in the nottm shop. even at opening time.
#12
are they offering this amount for just the Wii console in a box with its leads ??

no meniton of wii sports or controll ? any one had any joy getting this price ?

Standard policy is to get people in to do the deal then say they don't have cash.....they really prefer to give store credit because it helps their cashflow enormously (and you've then made the trip to the store so don't want to leave without cash).

They've been pulling this stunt for years.

You can send it through post
#15
it'll cost £20 special delivery to post though!

£5-7 with a DHL reseller

Nice to see a major retailer cashing in on poor saps for the silly season :(

cex are useless, apparently never have any cash, its all **** and they have been doing it for years,

either hang around and wait for someone to pay cash or just go in there knowing you are only getting store credit,

Funny thing is that gamestation will price match anyone on a trade in (trade value)
but id rather have 240 trade in value to spend at gamestation as at least most there stuff is oke price.
selling COD 4 for 40 quid whilst cex sell second hand ones for 42,
crazy

I've found them to be much better other than paying for postage. Only downside is that they have to havr it listed on their website (someone traded the same in before) where as the shop you can take anything and they'll value it. If you're thinking of sending electronics in i'd definitely go online and pay postage than the shop. A couple of weeks ago i took an ipod shuffle in for a mate having checked the website for way they grade an items condition. Stood for 25 minutes, then had to go away for 30 mins while they tested it and then queued for another 20 minutes while the woman arsed about constantly putting things in the til wrong and losing/dropping things. They then said that it was a grade C (perfectly working and no cosmetics marks, boxed and only missing the headphones) argued with them over the fact i'd sent the exact same thing in the same condition on the wesite the week before as a grade A (and got paid) to be told "oh, they don't do things the same as us, they grade things differently!" It's the same shop for pete's sake! But i won't get started on that as this will turn into a proper essay...
moral: send things in online if you can  :-D
