Cex pricing?

Looking at trading in my Xbox 4GB with games and an extra controller, According to Cex they would pay £109 for the lot.
They say they will pay £81 for the xbox alone, where as game and gamestation both quote £65.

I am tempted to go to Cex, but my only worry is even though everything is immaculate and boxed is that Cex will quote a different price instore.

It is a 45 min drive and parking cost for me to get to my nearest Cex so just trying to check if the online price is the same instore really :)

CEX try to downgrade most things to pay less (in my experience)

Online and instore are the same, but I believe that there is discretion in store and if they have a large amount of the same items in stock, they may refuse to buy yours in. Also, if you go very early they may not be "paying out" just yet.

CEX's are franchised so it would depend on the manager. It may be worth phoning up first thing and asking before you set off?

Thank you both. All disks have no mark and console still has 8 months warranty. So I would walk way if they tried to knock it down in price for faults lol. I will call them and hope they don't change price after my journey down there. According to website Cardiff Cex only has 1-3 Xbox, but then again they may not want anymore yet.

They will most likely say they dont have the cash available.

If CEX don't want it/give less, I'll buy it!

I just like the ease of lack of worrying about lost or damaged parcels selling this, Thats why trade in store seems my best bet :) x

hmv beat any trade in price by +£1...this includes games and consoles. worth comparing if you are trading in to upgrade.

Thats good to know, Just wondering if it would have to be within a certain distance. or if I would still have to drive to Cardiff. I dont mind having trade value in HMV as I can get the kids DVDs for xmas to put away. Just don't need any more games consoles or games :)

it within 1 mile...but just ring them and ensure.they will +£1 over anyone within the mile-but you have to bring proof of value...like put all your stuff into the cex website and then print basket.
