Just out of interest about Cex, are the prices they have on shelf the selling price or do they allow offers? I'm suprised how expensive they are considering it's all used stuff.

@OP - All CeX items are second hand. I've seen them unseal games to check the disc is actually in there. (S) may be a type of edition.. Never seen it before.
@BC - You could try and bargain with them, but I doubt they'd budge. I know they wouldn't budge on wii prices when they priced them @ £200+ during periods.

I think they buy cheap from people then sell it high at their store though some are good and some are bad

Already did that though if i were refund i probably lose money due to sending it back, last time i sold my ipod 4th gen they told me they havent recieved it even though i did add all the detail inside the package also until i given them a POS which made me think they kinda doing some scamming scheme.

Anyway signed for will cost bout £1.5 or £2 when it was actually not really my fault.

I had all sorts of trouble buying online with CEX a couple of years ago.

I bought a PS2 EyeToy and 3 games to go with it for my girlfriend. The EyeToy was broken, one game had missing instructions, one game disc looked like it had been scraped down a roughcast wall (I have NEVER seen a disc in this bad a condition) and the other game had a really tatty box and instructions.

I couldn't email them quick enough to tell them the whole lot was going back and I wanted a refund and the cost of sending everything back. To be fair they didn't have any issues with this and were very apologetic. I've learned my lesson though.

Do they refund the postage? or you have to pay for it? this is like the first time i have this issue and also ordered another game with them that had a (S), thinking their gonna be a another problem

they send incorrect items and then ask you 2 send back at your cost it happened 2 me twice it would of cost me nearly as much as the item i ordered
no phone number 2 call just an email with no reply 4 over a week
CEX customer service is a joke
I DO NOT TRUST OR DEAL WITH THEM ANY MORE

They refunded me P&P costs. I did have to send them proof of the P&P cost but there was no way I was paying to send back the camera with 3 games out my own pocket. I'm not sure they refund everyone unless you kick up a stink about its condition.

Have you mentioned it to them that you'd like the return postage covered?

no harm in asking i reckon, seeing as it's not your fault.
from what I understand the (S) games are meant to be brought in sealed (human error does come into it though) then they gut the item & put the box out on the shelf so it might now be mint by the time you buy it etc.

best of luck.

I've just checked the mail correspondence I had with them at the time. In the complaint I asked them to send a SAE to me so I could return everything back at their cost and I got the following email -

Hello,

Thank you for your enquiry, and please accept our most sincere apologies for any inconvenience you have been caused. If you would like to return the items to us [details on the FAQ section of our website] we will be more than happy to rectify the situation; please include the receipts for the costs of postage and we will be more than happy to reimburse you for these.

If you have any more enquiries, please feel free to contact us and we will be more than happy to assist.

Kind Regards
