hi jason do you work for CEX?

Last time I had this exact same problem with selling to Cex online I sent them a letter before action letter and they paid up the next day. Make sure you send the letter recorded delivery to their Watford address. They are notoriously slow and have non-existent customer service. They don’t have a phone number either. They ignore emails and only seem to respond to letters threatening legal action. Just have a read of some of the similar complaints on their Facebook page.

thanks im going to send them a letter then as im really appalled by this to be honest.

letter written off to P/O now to get in mail

I've only ever sold once - and Tbf I found them to be good - a tad slow paying but then again I snapped them up at £15 cash on 3 for £30 DVDs....

I sell to CeX quite regularly, I just make sure I put the order confirmation email in the packaging and write the order ID on the outside of the packaging, as well as sending it with a tracking ID available. Payment's not the quickest but normally within a week of the receiving it.

You should check out their CEX page katya1971, it's almost exclusively **** off customers who have been messed around/ignored/whatever else by them. I try to advise against using their online component as much as possible, it's an utter disgrace that they're allowed to continue it. I have no issues with the stores, for what it's worth.

yes i have taken stuff to my local store before but the price was better via online hence why i used it, i have seen the face book page and its terrible, what annoys me most is lack of contact number and i rang store in Leeds today hoping to get a number but was told defiantly no! and then he hung up on me!

fingers crossed they decided to payup when they get my letter.

As mentioned above its the Watford store that deals with online.

If you haven't got this sorted by next week i dont mind going in store for you.

Lol, that's EXACTLY what happened to me after they received my letter X)

It’s ridiculous that you have to threaten a company with legal action before they take any notice of you, but then that’s Cex online for you. Glad it's all sorted now and they have paid up.

got another letter today stating that money has been paid, i also posted on their facebook page along with all the other discruntled customers and they posted back it was something to do with cardnet! lol my situation has nothing to do with a card transaction just shear ignorance and hope i will forget due to it being xmas. Errr no chance!

will use with extreme caution or take the alternative that being gamestation next time.

My son traded in stuff in store last week, I got the email saying payment had been made and would be cleared in 3 days. Over a week later and still nothing.

Sometimes they don't have the money so they do a bank transfer. They've done it for me before.

Go back to the store and they should be able to sort it. :)

Yeah, I was a bit dubious at first but I wasn't in any rush for the money, so I did it. It came through alright, just took longer.

It can be much safer getting your money via BACS transfer anyway. Especially if it is an expensive item you've just sold, like an iPhone, I wouldn't want to be seen carrying hundreds of pounds out of a CeX store. oOX)

No, I always feel like I'm being watched when I take stuff in for cash. I've never been offered the option of bank transfer either. I was almost told to come back the next day with a bunch of Blu-Rays though but, as it was Blu-Rays and not a phone or something and they're always looking for Blu-Rays they managed to find the cash.

Next time just ask them whether they will do it for you bex, I'm sure they will say yes, if it allows them to do it on their system. And maybe they only do it for large amounts, but I'm not sure. :)

Probably only large amounts I reckon. If they don't have the cash I'll get them to do that anyway, as the nearest CEX isn't that near and knowing my luck, the price would go down the next day if I went back anyway. Majority of the time though, when we do take stuff to CEX it's when we're a little bit stuck for money with unexpected expenses, but have stuff lying about the house not getting used. Otherwise we try Gumtree first anyway. Yes know should put money away :p but, it's what buys the stuff that is lying around the house haha. (When I say lying around the house, I generally means games we've bought and not played or completed and not sold)
