lots of stores say this is sales are down, or if its coming up to christmas etc. Encourages people to trade stuff in and thus get rid of stock they might have had sat around for a while and get newer stock in whilst also possibly making a larger return on those goods.

My friend used to work in CEX.

They are told not to give cash, anyone who does gets ticked off by the manager.

Only exceptions are brand new big games or stuff which is hard to come by.

going to trade them in for cash via their website then.

i take it there wont be any problems in them sending me a cheque by post?

I traded in my nokia 5610, practically scratch free but about a year old...they gave me £57 cash there and then.

Plus this was in leeds centre.

But i've heard at times they certianly don't give/have cash

nope shouldnt have a problem, otherwise they shouldnt quote cash price or give you the option to take a cheque.

Isn't it discrimination that the managers of CEX only employ smelly hippy types??
