I've been retired for the last few years and the novelty has worn off a bit so back in October I decided to do some voluntary work.
I drive patients to hospital who otherwise would have difficulty getting there. The work is very rewarding and I get to meet some very interesting people to boot.
The hospitals I visit invariably have signs up asking for volunteers, usually for help to man the Shop/Cafe or even just the ward tea trolley. Local charity shops often need help too.
Even a few hours a week would be gratefully received and as I say the work is very rewarding.
Can you spare a few hours a week? A little goes a long way in charity work. Have a think about it and if you can help give it a try you may be like me and love it.
PM me if you would like to ask anything.
