There’s an entire supermarket that sells food that would have otherwise been thrown out by shops.

Campaigners from the Real Junk Food Project have just opened ‘the warehouse’ in Pudsey, near Leeds, which – like their cafes – operates on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis.

This means people can either pay with financial donations of whatever level they feel comfortable with, or they can donate their time, energy or skills instead.

They’ve got deals with supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Ocado, while also receiving food from allotments, foodbanks, restaurants, cafes, food photographers, and events caterers.

I'm glad those food photographers are chipping in, as this project would no doubt flop without them.

hope it works but I have a feeling greed will win the day

a few weeks ago I was in ASDA and walked down the bread section ( I said section as I can not spell isle ) and a woman had a trolly full of bread that was marked down, another woman was trying to get some but the first woman was blocking her, the second woman's husband came over took 2 packs of buns out of the first woman's trolly and just walker off

the first woman must have had 20pks of buns, and 20 loafs of bread, as well as cakes.

This is a bad idea.

I wait half an hour by the Tesco bakery at night to get the 10p goodies.

I'll waste away if this trend continues.
