Cheapest printer ink?

I'm thinking about getting a new printer, my old HP PSC 750 not entirely compatible with my newly installed windows 7. What printer is cheapest based on the cost of refilling printer ink(ignoring printer cost - within reason)?

I've got an Epson.
We get the ink off a company called inksmart.
It's cheap enough for the amount we use it. And the printer is good too.

i have a Canon - we buy the cartridges for somethnig like £4./

I use Brother - cheap reliable printer - and genuine cartridges are about £7 - compatibles are £3.

Used to have Epson printers, but the heads dry up really bad.

well my current ink costs £3.50 for black and £7.50 colour, compatible ink. Looking at some of the brother inks, you need to buy each colour individually at around £3-4 each, so thats £9-12 for all 3.

what are the makes of ink you use? there are so many types is impossible to go through them all to compare prices.

I use a Canon. Originals cost a packet, same as most originals I should think.
I get my ink from 999inks and have never had a problem with their compatible cartidges. Got the printer cheap direct from Canon as they had a refurb store on Ebay.

Well depends how much you use. If you print a lot then continuous ink systems are the way yo go.

thanks, but HP don't support my printer with windows 7. It works with the basic windows drivers, but i can't use any of the software(check ink levels, image editors etc)

A laser printer is by far the cheapest

My lexmark used a £15 cartridge for less than 100 pages (15p per page!)

my £50 brother laser printer is meant to print 2000 pages per £25 cartridge (1.25p per page).

So I see, That's pig! sorry about that I just seen the list of drivers (I thought) and linked it....................but I have just read the instructions and work around for the Windows 7 32bit OS! What a carry-on. I would have though HP had drivers ready for W7 but I guess not. :x Oh well..........................More expense at xmas......Just what you need.
