Hi all,

I have a PP dispute at the minute, and the seller has agreed a refund, but I need to send the item back, and submit the tracking number to PP.

How much is it to send an item to HK, and whats the cheapest way to go about it to get a tracking number ?

Thanks

How big is the item? It may be very pricy. It cost me quite a bit just to send a Christmas card to Japan

It's a dress (not mine obviously lol)

It was sent damaged (ripped), but to claim a refund or a replacement, we need to send the item back :(

They should really be covering the price - depending on what type of company it is - as you didn't receive the goods in the expected quality.

It's from Ebay, so the misses is a bit stuck, as Paypal need a tracking code to prove it's been sent. The seller doesn't know much English.......

can you not appeal for the cost of postage to be paid back also? Through Paypal?

Not that I know of unfortunately.

Anyone have any prices & recommendations ?

Cheers

From PayPal:

Q: What methods of online tracking are acceptable?

A: The following options may be used:
Parcelforce Worldwide
Royal Mail - Special Delivery
Royal Mail - Recorded Signed For
Royal Mail - International Signed For
Royal Mail - Airsure
UPS
FedEx
Airborne Express
DHL

Note: Royal Mail does not officially provide online tracking (with proof of delivery) for the International Signed For service. In some instances however, delivery details may be available online. If these details map to the buyer's postal address shown on the Transaction Details page, PayPal may consider it as sufficient proof of delivery. However, since availability of delivery details cannot be predicted, sellers may not be able to rely on this method for proof of delivery in order to be covered by PayPal's Seller Protection Policy.

The International Signed For and Airsure options are probably going to be the cheapest, but whilst in theory you should get confirmation of delivery, it's not gauranteed. Having said that, if the seller turns round and says they never got the returned package, then so long as you have enough compensation, you'll be able to get your money back from Royal Mail.

You should check out the Royal Mail website for more information regarding price and insurance, etc.

I have also seen http://www.pharos-international.co.uk/ recommended before, but have never used them myself. I believe they use DHL.

I think you will possibly need International Signed For™. It will only track within the UK and not necessarily/guaranteed at the destination. Here is their blurb:

All items are tracked until they leave the UK – and in some cases on arrival in the destination country. Check the progress of your item online until it reaches the destination country’s postal service as a registered item.

Its £3.50 for International Signed For,I suppose you neet send it back Airmail, depending on heavy dress is its going vary but say its a regular cotton one,in an average size and quite plain ( not covered in diamonte and studs etc) you might look at paying about £6 plus the £3.50 signed for, that covers about £34 insurance I think. Its about an additional £2.50 to increase insurance.
