"Cheapest I've ever seen"

I don't know if it's just me who feels this way but I've seen an awful lot of people use this statement which to me comes across as a way to tip the scales for people to vote hot even though the item has been cheaper previously (checking on camel camel or using the search feature on here). Do others feel like this? Or is it just me who see it as a 'marketing tool'

It could possibly be that it is the cheapest somebody has seen?

for some people having a deal go hot is the most important thing in their life so why not lie to get it off to a good start :|

That's pointless though as i have said there is camel camel and the search feature. The cheapest I have seen a ps4 is £350 because I've only ever seen it on the highstreet but that's not a good deal

The best way to ensure your deal goes hot is to .... er .. Post a good deal (_;)

But it could still be the cheapest that particular person has seen that particular item.

Take a minute, sit down, deep breaths, we'll get through this together

I fully understand what you are saying but like i said a two second search would back up the claim rather than give a false impression on a deal.

It happens all the time, people always get fooled by the "cheapest I've ever seen". Most of the time when people say that it's cheaper at almost any other retailer, yet because the say it's the cheapest they get loads of heat for what is in no way a deal.

But I really don't think the phrase "cheapest I've ever seen" would influence someone to vote a deal hot. And if it does......who cares? If you want an item and feel the price is good then buy it. If not then move on.

I really do not understand the idea behind people getting upset if a deal they posted goes cold.

I think a lot of people get caught up on the heat aspect so they will try to skew the votes in one direction. I won't post a deal unless i think it's an amazing offer and a proper saving but i think some get hung up on badge hunting and deal numbers which equates to a more flooded site with 1p savings, crappy deals and marketing/fluffing up deals so they can feel proud about themselves for getting over 100 degrees

It beats "First post so go easy..." imo

Nearly as much as chucking in "Glitch" into the title, even though it's not a glitch....

If some one posted a deal with "Glitch" and "cheapest I've ever seen" I think HKUD would implode.

"probably nationwide" is another. 'probably' usually based on nothing

This is my first post so please be gentle, I've found this glitch for 10p prawn sandwiches at Tesco it's the cheapest I've ever seen and probably nationwide.

Best or worst deal ever?

Put 'New on PSN this month' anywhere in the title and you're sure of heat or and this has to be in caps .... BACK IN STOCK!!!

"This was posted not long ago for £X amount and the deal hit over 500 degrees, now it is even cheaper by 0.03% so this should get hot!"

WTF? Get a life!
