Cheapest way to send an 8.8kg parcel?

Ben3110Ben3110

Looking to post a heavy parcel that Ive sold on ebay. Seen the 1500 degree deal about the 6.29 courier, but when I get my quote from the link it comes up as £6.95+ vat. Is that the cheapest option?

If you can deliver it to a local store, and the buyer is happy to pick it up from their local store, you can send it with collect+ for £3.49 (Or £2.89 if vouchercode 1500SHOPS is still working). Try http://www.collectplus.co.uk - you can enter your postcode and the buyers and see if there's somewhere nearby for both of you. They also do delivery to home for a couple of quid more.

Thanks. Is there home delivery the chepest option out of all the couriers, would ideally wanting it delivered to his home?

Not sure if their home delivery way is cheapest - think it's £6.99 for a heavy parcel. Have you looked on parcel2go? If you go through Topcashback (prob Quidco as well) there's 20% cashback on their prices, and I think a delivery through Hermes would be about £5.

It might be worth asking him if he wants it at home - I know that for me it's much easier to collect it from the Spar when I'm passing as I often work through the day and miss deliveries. It's also fully tracked and signed for the same way as home delivery.

Apart from parcelsplease who where slightly cheaper, (88p) but who messed me about and failed to collect, parcelforce was the cheapest.collectplus would not accept my item as it did not fit their restrictive dimensions so hardly ripped off :),Happy to report package arrived safe and on time :)
