Check your mobile phone bill!!

Check your mobile phone bill!! My phone bill came in today and it was £20 more than usual! I called Vodafone and apparently I have been RECEIVING marketing text messages and being charged for it! Luckily, I caught it early and voda were being nice today and blocked the messages and gave me a refund (which they didn't need to, to be fair). Before anyone says (I know you were thinking it!), its not from dodgy chat lines. The only thing I can think of is I sent a message to a tv competition once and since then I have been getting messages (which I delete straight away), so it could be that! There are a lot of scammers out there!

Well obviously, as I had deleted it, I wouldn't know there was a stop message instruction at the bottom of the message (let alone that they can charge me for it!). Thanks for the advice Numptyj, always helpful! :)

I dunno whether to read that as a sarcy response or not lol. But anyway ye in the future when those messages come in just give them a quick read and send back stop if it gives you that option in the message

It was semi sarcy! It is annoying though that I have to stop something that I didn't even know I had started! I viewed mobile junk mail the same as junk mail I get in the post, I bin it without reading it! But now I know to send STOP in the future!

I had this as well. I emailed the company and demanded a refund and they obliged. Contacted whoever regulates mobile communication as well to report them.. (can't remember the name of the organisation)

How do you know what the charge for sending a stop message is?
