If you are an owner of polymer £5 note with the AA01 prefix, It could be worth over 40 times it's face value!

The Queen was presented with the first note leaving a further 999,998 fivers bearing the AA01 prefix (AA01 000001), After her!!!

From the Independent article:

''There are 440 million new fivers printed but not all of them have made it into circulation yet, so it’s possible that lower-numbered notes may still appear in cash machines.''

Think this way, not all are rare but the smaller the number the rare they're being considered.

If some fool wants to pay more than a fiver, for a fiver, with a million others in circulation, that's up to them. I would try and sell mine too if someone was stupid enough to buy it.

People always tend to collect rare stuff in forms of anything. Some of these rare stuff make their way to museums. There are money museums and I'm sure those who collected and and possibly dedicated those notes there were not fools. Collecting is a hobby mate, if we are not a fan we should at least learn to respect others who does instead of calling them fools. :)

Yep looked on eBay today and a set of 10 sold for over £1000 you'd have to be brain dead mad to do that they are not even rare with AA01 having 999,998 in circulation everybody jumped on the bandwagon after one person success was printed in the press some coins go up in value these are not going to imo but if I'd have had one I would have put it on eBay if some fool wants to pay me stupid for it then so be it.

Pretty rare considering the amount in circulation by now :)

It looks like people are stupid enough to pay 3 times the face value on ebay for any fiver that starts with AA. A few have sold today for £15. Madness.

As for AK47...£9 on ebay:-

Omg!!! Just had a look at the listing and I feel an eBay case opening up. I'm pretty sure the buyer missed that... Or is that just me? Either way stupid money for a note unless it is numbers 2-10 then I understand it would possibly be worth a bit in future.
