Hi,

Yesterday i checked my email, and i got a blackhole toolkit warning. i updated the norton and windows updates today and yesterday. And i checked my emails just now, and all was fine till i got the warning again.

I did do a virus scan yesterday when the first warning popped up, but it didnt find anything.

Does anyone know what it is. Do i need to change my email address?. How do i when i have all my surveys and stuff at this account?.

im thinking its a hacker thing?. Oh and the address its coming from just now was

cubop.co.be

yesterdays was from a .co.be address too.......... whats . be??

Not up on the latest twists but
Yes its a bad thing
It is actually a Trojan not a Virus... dangerous if you get infected...
It blocks your anti-virus software and steals password keystrokes forewarding them on to a web site so that they can access them and access web sites as you

If its comes up on a specific incoming email normally its the email you are being warned about not your machine. Whatever you do do not open the email

If it keeps coming up it could be your machine is blocking it dialing out the virus checker log should show this

Sorry I cannot be more helpful

Good Luck

it was when i log in my email on hotmail, and i did my consumerpulse survey fine, but when i went to delete the email, the warning came up. i only open the emails i know too. i downloaded ad aware half a hour ago, and that didnt find anything either. should i try another computer?.

maybe it is just hotmail been hacked or something?.

I'd recommend changing all your passwords etc.. from another uninfected machine.

i found this

its the ads at the side of the hotmail, they have a virus or something. im sure there is a option somewhere to turn off ads...........looks like a new email account is what i need, one without stupid ads at the side :(

Plus download, install, update and then kick off a full spyware/malware scan with the Spybot - Search & Destroy utility - also kick off an immunisation with that utility when your scan is done.

i always delete my history before i turn computer off everyday.

i downloaded ad aware, and my pc is fine other then when i go to check my hotmail email. it must be the banners, and the only banner blocker thing i have found is ad muncher, but have no idea about it :|

Wouldnt Firefox with noscripts/adblock running counter this.

I downloaded ad muncher for free, its a 30 day trial, and it blocks the ads at the side of my email, so i finally checked my email for the first time in three days, and no warning came up at all. so it IS so far proving to be the ads. just saying this in case anyone else has this problem :)

Lets hope everything goes back to normal ads, and not cra**y ads with viruses!
